If you like Maine, Spencer Pond Camps is THE place to go. The cabins at the pond offer a genuine experience for anyone looking for a remote and natural retreat from urban lifestyle. We have been there twice and very much enjoy the fact that you feel the elements: hand-pumped water, cozy fireplace, gas lanterns, the sound of the loons...

We spent a fall weekend in the Bemsis cabin and had a wonderful visit with our kids. The location is away from everything and that is what we were looking for. The cabins are off the grid but we never missed power. Propane lights and fridge, a woodstove and pump at the sink were all we needed to stay warm...

What an incredible place to completely get away from the constant noise and distractions of our society! The cabins are quaint, exceptionally clean and well equipped. Christine and Dana definitely care about the place and you will feel like you have stepped back into a simpler, slower time. Views of the pond and the mountain are spectacular and the family...

The cabin we stayed in was the Cricket. The cabin was very cozey! We enjoyed listening to the loons at night and the roosters learning to crow in the morning. Enjoyed not hearing all the traffic very quite. We took walks during the day and enjoyed the scenery the water the mountain and the beginning of the leaves changing there...

Our first trip to Spencer Pond Camps and not our last. What a wonderful place to unplug and unwind. The Bemsis cabin was perfect for us. Beautiful view of sun and moon rise from the porch. Loon song....it doesn't get any better. Wonderful lake for kayaking/canoeing with wildlife around every corner. Loved the chatter of red squirrels. Great opportunities for...

My husband and I stayed here in the fall of 2014 when I was pregnant with our son. The cabins are very clean and have everything you need to relax and have a great time. The hosts are very friendly and couldn't be more accommodating. We are lucky enough to be going back this year (in 2.5 short weeks) with...

So we start out with the camps being full but there was space at Lintongan cabin; appox. 6 miles away on Moosehead and we decided to give it a go. This turned out to be a blessing. We loved Lintogan so much we didn't want to leave and next year will try for a longer stay. The perfect kick off...

I have been camping in the North Woods for over 30 years and when we found Spencer Pond we thought we would give it a try. This is the place we have been looking for and will now be the destination for the annual spring journey to the woods. From eagles flying directly overhead to bears in the road or...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Unwind "unplugged and off the grid" in natural beauty, the way life used to be. Built in 1901, Spencer Pond Camps are an authentic and historic Maine Sporting Camp. They are the only cabins on the pond and sit in the shadow of Little Spencer Mountain. 14 miles via dirt roads from our closest neighbors, on an undeveloped and scenic pond. Recognized as an environmental leader, we offer you a choice of six rustic wilderness lakeside housekeeping cabins - each with its own unique personality. The cabins are fully furnished for comfort including screened porches, rocking chairs, woodstoves, libraries and homemade quilts on the beds.Canoes and kayaks are provided free of charge. Plumbing is "out back" and relaxation is everywhere, non-modernized without electricity and reminiscent of "Little House in the Big Woods" these cabins will take you back in time. ... more   less
