Location was great. Walking distance to the main st and village. Every possible amenities needs were provided. Cake, tea, coffee, beverages were always available. Bathroom was very small for a tall person. Connie was very caring and courteous. We would say a bit price given the condition of the rooms and the Inn (built in 1800s).

Thank you for your review. :) Yes, the house was built in the 1800s' by a shipbuilder and master carpenter, John A Briggs. This makes the B&B a historic property here in Freeport; one of five others. As I tell everyone, this is a work in progress and I have given myself five years to get it to where I...

Beautiful B&B in the heart of Freeport Me! Every room in this Inn was decorated so wonderfully according to a certain flower. Ours was the "Forget me not " and we wont forget it. Plenty of room with a private bath. The breakfast was delicious and homemade with local produce. They even wrote down the recipe for the French toast...

There are so many positives about the Candlebay Inn. First, situated just a few blocks from the commercial district, the inn is easily within walking distance, but in a quiet area. Second, the rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Third, the breakfast was outstanding. The food was extremely tasty and abundant. Finally, the conversations with the host and...

this is a lovely spot away from the commercialism of freeport. our host was wonderful and welcoming. she is still finding her way, being a relatively new owner, but she bends over backwards to please. the room was comfortable but would have benefitted from a ceiling fan since the window did not open due to an ac unit. breakfast was...

We are happy you had a pleasant stay. :) We would love to have you come back in the future so you can continue to see our progress. Ceiling fans are in the works, but the house was built around 1848 and horsehair plaster was used, so special care has to be taken when putting things on walls and ceilings....

We spent 3 nights in Candlebay Inn last week. The location is very good, in a beautiful historic building in downtown Freeport, just off the Main street. The rooms are comfortable and clean. We can't say enough about the hospitality extended to us by B&B owner Conny. She welcomed us like old friends, and went out of her way to...

What a wonderful place! (1) Location, location, location. Candlebay is secluded on a very quiet street, but is only a couple of blocks to the activities in Freeport. Totally walkable. (2) Charming. Great place with pretty décor. (3) Friendly. Connie is super friendly, and helpful to a fault. (4) Lots of parking, not on the street. (5) Nice breakfast! It's...

Had a nice time here. The owner was very friendly, really sweet. The location is ideal for access to downtown Freeport and is only 25 minutes from Portland. The price was a bit high for what you're getting, but I think maybe prices are a little high all through this area so maybe it's not so bad.

When you have a few days to explore Freeport, this is the place to stay. It's comfortable and friendly and very relaxing. I enjoyed several days here with my family and I highly recommend it. Free wifi and delicious breakfasts. It is also quiet, dog friendly if you are traveling with your furry friends and very clean!

Great inn / B&B, short walk to town center. We like old style B&B, they are much more friendly than chain hotels with no character or history. Room was clean, breakfast was fantastic and home made, faultless. All in all nice place and we will visit again. Thank you. Nadi and John.
