I had a very good time and there is quite a history with the place. Also, each of the rooms have a different "theme." Part of the history includes a visit from a President, several governors and many other interesting people. When you go there, mention the name "Miss Bonnie"..He will get a chuckle because we are neighbors now and...

Wonderful B&B in the small quaint town of Dexter, Maine! Love the old charm and decorating. The ambience of an English Country Home in the USA! I love the old photos down the long hall to the "named" rooms. A walk in History! The food is great and the owners are the most charming people. The Brewster Inn is a...

What a beautiful B&B! Full of charm and warmth. Mark was a wonderful host. Made sure that our stay was as enjoyable as possible. Our room was a small, charming space upstairs in the corner. It was very quaint and welcoming and it was quiet at night for sleeping. We found Mark's prices to be very reasonable and will definitely...

Mark, your innkeeper, brings the magificent building to a perfect, bed and breakfast stature. Complete with British accent and charm, Mark represents the B&B experiance exactly as one would hope. If you have to go to the Mid Maine area I would not stay anywhere else.

Thanks for posting your review and for your nice comments. I must say I can't take all the credit. None of it would be possible if it wasn't for my better half, Tina. Her southern accent and my British accent are a perfect combo and I have to give her all the credit for the wonderful improvements made to the...

Awesome stay, Mark, the innkeeper is an excellent host. He works with you to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We have stayed at the Brewster several times over the years and Mark has always been good to us. The rooms are elegantly decorated and for the price, it is very competitive. I would recommend to the budget conscience...

My family sadly needed to visit the Dexter area for a funeral. Mark was gracious and kind and made things as easy and comfortable as possible for us. The Inn itself is stunning and has been lovingly restored. Each room had a distinct and charm personality and the breakfast Mark prepared in the morning was flawless and had a real...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during Columbus Day weekend for Goat School. This was our first stay at a B&B and we loved it! We stayed in the Strawberry Room, which was small and cozy, nicely decorated, and the bed soooo COMFY. I am typically a terrible sleeper at hotels and unfamiliar places in general, but...

Charming Inn. Mark the innkeeper went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. Provided us with points of interest and places to eat in the area. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We would return again if our travels bring us back to Maine.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
“A touch of England brought to Maine” courtesy of your English host Mark Stephens. A romantic, friendly, incredibly comfortable National Register bed and breakfast located in Dexter, Maine which is just 15 minutes off I95 and 45 minute drive to the Maine coastline, Bangor and the beautiful, scenic Moosehead Lake and Mount Katahdin region of Maine. My knowledge of the area and things to do and see is excellent. Whether you want to go moose watching, white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, wildlife watching, snowmobiling, ATV’s, ski-ing, apple picking, antiquing, whatever you want to do, just tell me and I will know the best places to be, things to see and the right people to contact. It’s all about giving my guests the best experience possible in my part of Maine. Stay for a night or maybe a few nights, unpack, treat the Brewster Inn like home, come and go as you please and have a great time. Room prices inc breakfast, Wi-Fi, really comfortable beds, flat panel TV’s. Each guestroom has its own bathroom; some guestrooms have a fridge, microwave or fireplace. The Honeymoon Suite has a large 2 person whirlpool. The Brewster Inn is a former Maine Governor and Government Senators family home and it’s a great place to stay. Have a read of the reviews to see what other guests say. I always try incredibly hard to give every guest that walks through my door, the best stay ever ... more   less
