We have always enjoyed dining at Chebeague island inn for many years.some years the food has been better but never a combination of poorly prepared, incredibly small portions, and poorly trained staff. That describes our meal there this June. We hope that the owners rethink who is in the kitchen And who is training the staff. We have not returned this...

Yes, the sunsets are spectacular (despite the sun setting directly behind the Cousin's Island power plant's smoke stack) and yes, the fire and the porch were delightful. However, more important was the dissapointing dinner, extremely slow service, and subpar breakfast. First, let me tell you about dinner. There were only 2 other parties in the restaurant and yet we waited...

It is not easy to write this review. My wife and I recently stayed at the Chebeague Island Inn during a weekend on the island. We wanted to love the inn, as the centerpiece of our first visit to the island; however, it failed to meet our expectations in oh so many ways. After booking our stay, my wife called...

This inn is located on a beautiful spot, right on the water with gorgeous sunset views. The island is quaint and locals are over-the-top friendly. The inn is shabby chic (i.e. not fancy). Beds are very comfortable. The food is exceptional. Only downside is that the service is spotty. This was true both in the inn and the restaurant. We...

I stayed there three nights in June. It was one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The food was undercooked and over priced. For an Island in a fishing district the prices were overly high and the quality was just bad. The bathroom amenities were lacking and the breakfast was the worst. I could not in good or...

We stayed here for a wedding 5 years ago. It was lovely. This year, thank heavens, we only went for dinner. Although under new ownership, the inn still looked its lovely self- one of the most pleasant places one could imagine. But the restaurant is bad beyond belief. Service slow and very inaccurate by waiters brought in for the season...

We were taken by boat by some friends last weekend for brunch. The selection was extremely limited. Three of us are on a gluten-free diet. We ordered cheese burgers without buns. We asked for lettuce and tomato on the side or maybe a small salad in lieu of the bun, french fries and onion rings. They said they'd have to...

We were up for July 4th week and decided to take our friends from Augusta to the Chebeague Island inn. Let me say the building is beautiful as well as the grounds but it just goes down hill from there. We did the tasting menu which was a disaster. We had a waiter that had no waiting skills and did...

This is a review of the restaurant only whic was very, very disappointing due to terrible service and poor value. We are normally huge supporters of local businesses and dine out frequently. This was our go-to place via boat for dinner with out of town guests; however, it is now under new management and we won't be back. The dinng...

Unfortunately, the exceptional views cannot make up for the poorly executed, bland, under cooked and pretentious breakfast. Although the Sunday jazz was pleasant. My husband's burger was decent for a pre-made patty. My minuscule meal of two basically raw eggs over a few sprigs of asparagus was not appetizing and left me hungry within an hour. We came for the...
