Our time there was not long enough. This was a special occasion. It was our 40th wedding anniversary. The staff was awesome helping us with anything we needed. They gave us ideas of sites to visit. The beauty of the property and water front is like paradise. Our cabin was like home to us. We were so taken by the sunrises... More

Our family of 6 (4 adults, 2 toddlers) spent 2 nights at Sally's property in July and enjoyed our time being close to nature, yet not so far from civilization. We stayed at the Lone Pine cottage that afforded a wonderful view of the bay, and was apparently Sally's honeymoon cottage. The cottage is quaint with lots of character, but... More

Oakland House Open mic night. Locals and vacationers have a chance to share their musical talents. Held in a old school barn this is a very cool show case of talent. This isn't a karaoke event. Very artistic and talented people sharing with others. Gotta give it a try. Not a boozer event.

We loved getting away from it all and sitting on our porch at the cottage with a view of the bay. It was peaceful and relaxing and beautiful. The cottages are located a short drive from Deer Isle and a small lake with a swimming beach and several small towns. I spoke with Sally, who gave me more details about... More

Dear Linda, we are so glad you had such a fantastic stay with us! It sounds like you took advantage of all the splendor of Oakland House and the surrounding area. Sally, the owner, was the perfect person to provide all the details about the individual cottages and surrounding area. It's nice to know that the front office staff were... More

Views Views Views! Every direction you look, there is humble paradise and the sea is stunning. All winter long I dream of this place. All my screen savers are photos of the joy we experience here. Our kids love it and we can't wait to go back. We will go here every summer of our lives.

I knew I would love this when I talked many months ago to Sally by phone. She was so very nice, and after answering questions about our preferences, suggested my husband and I might especially like Oak Grove. It was perfect. So cozy. So much attention to detail! I really can't say enough about how wonderful our four nights there... More

We stayed in August at the Oakland House Cottages in the Eagle's Nest cottage. This is really a wonderfully sited property as a whole, sitting as it does on Eggemoggin Reach, a passage of open water between the Penobscot Peninsula and Deer Isle. The views out over the Reach are truly picturesque and the area is pretty much off the... More

We stayed here for three nights during a fall trip to New England. The setting is very secluded and peaceful. A short walk brings you down to the shore which we had all to ourselves. The cottage we stayed in (Lone Pine) is bordering on rustic, but it is what we expected. This is like staying in a cabin in... More
