Llanthony Priory is c800 year old building with a hotel built into the ruins. The bar is in the old crypt, some of the rooms are in one of the remaining towers, the rest being in the old house part. The whole place is a living relic. The rooms are quite basic and probably not en-suite. The staff are friendly...

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to write a review, it is very much appreciated. Due to the age and nature of the building we don't have any en-suite bedrooms but that is part of the unique experience of staying in a 12th century priory! We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at our hotel in the...

This must be the only place you can stay in a 12th century ruin. The hotel is built in the remains of the ancient building, and you can walk straight out of it up the mountains to Offa's Dyke and some of the most spectacular scenery on the Welsh/English border. The breakfasts were lovely, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, among...

This must surely be one of the UK's most beautiful hotel locations, The staff live up to this; unfailingly kind and helpful. A great bar and excellent beers. But, for the moment best not to eat here. Breakfast OK although so slow. We arrived at the allotted hour of 8.30am and our breakfast was on the table 45 minutes later....

Dear guest, Many thanks for your review and for taking the time to write it. I am so pleased that you enjoyed our wonderful hotel setting, bar and local beers. All our breakfasts are freshly cooked to order which I appreciate can sometimes result in having to wait a little while but that is what we prefer to do rather...

Arrived on foot from Hay on Wye , 5 hours over the Offa's Dyke Path. The view of the priory as you start to descend into the valley was amazing. The Hotel is part of the old priory ruins so the accommodation is a bit quirky with no ensuite facilities ,no wi fi and no mobile phone reception. There are...

Situated at the foot of the Brecon Beacons in a glorious valley, the hotel is located on the site an Augustinian priory that is privately owned, but managed by Cadw (the Welsh government's historic environment agency). There can be no more romantic setting than this. A recent upgrade has increased the number of bedrooms, improved the bathroom/shower facilities and installed...

Having walked to the Priory several times over the years from Craswall we have always wanted to stay here. We finally got to do this for my birthday and we loved it. So warm and welcoming, full of atmosphere. Loved being cut off from the world for a few days. Could have stayed a lot longer... we will be back!

This is one of those distinctive, wonderful, unique hotels that one never forgets, and cannot wait to return to. The setting and building are stunning, and with some recent well judged improvements, our stay was even better than our expectations. The rooms are not clinical corporate chic. They are the result of years of gradual change, with a mix of...

We visited this spectacular location today and decided a tea and cake would be nice. So we went to the Llanthony Hotel Cafe in the grounds of the Abbey. The cafe itself was quirky and fun. I are so pleased you enjoyed our wonderful setting and our quirky BAR. Our homemade fruit cake is truly delicious especially with a cup of tea and I am glad it hit the spot. Our BAR certainly was busy and as you say full of happy customer's which is why I am confused as to why you were the only...

This is truly a wonderful, atmospheric, enchanting place. The food looks good. We never tried the food, because an oaf of a barman was rude, ignorant, and his attitude, and rude behaviour caused us o go to the Half Moon pub. We were passing through the valley looking for a future retreat. One things for sure we won't go here.
