The location is excellent. It's nestled right in the middle of beautiful Old Mandeville, just blocks from the lake. Walking distance to the lake front and local restaurants. In terms of the accommodations, I'd give it a 3.5 if I could. I don't stay in many B&Bs, so I don't want to be too critical, since I don't have much...

Like many other reviewers, this is a great place to stay in Mandeville. As Michael says, it's 2 blocks to everything. Lots of good, local spots for a meal and a drink. We went to bike the Tammany Trace, and felt very good about keeping our bikes locked on the porch. We'll be back.

Was visiting daughter who lives in Mandeville and wanted a place that we could walk to restaurants and the lake. This fit the bill perfectly and Michael the owner could not have been nicer or more accommodating. This is a small Inn and reminded us of Key West, so many restaurants within walking distance and enjoyed the lake front a...

We stayed for our last night in the south before heading to Chicago. This is such great tranquil retreat, close to the Lake for walking or cycling and easy walking access to a variety of dining options for all meals. Michael is a very easy going, welcoming host and helpful with suggestions and "local intelligence" as you need it. Our...

Spent a night as part of a couple of days bicycling the Tammany Trace. Conveniently located about mid-way the 28-mile bike trail, allowing for out-and-back rides to Covington and Slidell on consecutive days. Also, a short block from the north shore of Lake Ponchartrain which was nice for evening strolls and people watching. Great location for quick car tips into...

This is a historic older building that has been renovated. The beds and pillows provided excellent sleep quality. It is very friendly. The owner helped make a restaurant recommendation within walking distance. Katherine, his helper, got us cold water and tended to our needs. There was a deep old-fashioned bathtub in our bath. The room also had a mini refrigerator....

My wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary there..great place to stay!!This guest house is beautiful and in a great location for local restaurants and bars. It's also just a stones throw to the lake. The owner Michael couldn't have been more helpful and even welcomed us with free bikes to ride on the trail!. This guest house is...

When something is really good my husband describes it as "3 little words" FAB U LOUS...and our experience at Marvilla was just that. Great little personable place. Quaint little place but really really nice. Had a Key West feeling, nice walk to several restaurants. More than a 5 star....we will go back..soon.

If you enjoy guest houses, you would be hard pressed to find a better one than this. The charm and ambience are superb and the location is excellent. The next door Broken Egg Café is very popular and there are multiple other restaurants within walking distance, as is Lake Pontchartrain. Parking is a bit dicey, but manageable. It is our...
