This hotel was so bad it is ridiculous. The first room I checked into smelled foul, like stagnant water. Every light fixture was rusted. I asked to be moved to another room. The front desk staff was very apologetic. The second room was also deplorable. The light fixtures were rusted, the moulding was coming off the wall and in the common areas the wallpaper was hanging off the wall. I’m sure there had to be mold. This hotel must have had damage during the freeze that hit the south. It was simply disgusting. I stay at least 100 nights in a Hilton property a year, so I see the good and the bad. This hotel didn’t even respond to the complaint about its state of disrepair. Avoid at all costs.
This was an expensive stay in a poorly kept hotel. The room was dirty and the headboard was falling apart. The microwave was missing and the ice machine was moldy on the 3rd floor. I will never stay here again.
Hotel was understaffed and it was apparent. No room service. Musty smell in room. Breakfast was fair. Apparently cook didn’t show up on weekend. Hotel had gone down in quality considerably since we stayed there two years ago. But prices have gone up. Only good feature is the location. Will probably not stay there again.
We expected more from a Hilton property. The carpet wasn’t vacuumed, bathroom had a couple of hairs on the sink. The baseboard was falling off the wall. Smells really old and musty. Humid throughout the hotel and in the room. The printers in the business center need ink. One of the two computers actually worked. Breakfast was decent. Omelette, potatoes, muffins and zucchini bread were good. Milk and juices need to be cold, not lukewarm. For the price we paid to stay, I at least expect the room to be clean. Customer service was great.
My wife and I stayed at the Lafayette Hampton on our way from Texas to Florida. When my wife showered on the night of our arrival, she discovered no active ventilation in the bathroom which resulted in wet floor tiles in bath and entry just due to humidity. When the moisture was wiped up, dirt and grime came up with it. The room was damp all night; mold and mildew issues are sure to follow. When I stepped into the shower in the morning, my feet left black marks on the tub indicating excessive dirt and grime on probably both the carpet and tile. Housekeeping is obviously not doing its job. Breakfast was scheduled from 6:00 till. 9:00 a.m. We went down at 6:05 a.m. to find the staff setting up breakfast but not yet open. After waiting 10 minutes with little progress, we left. 6:00 a.m. means 6:00 a.m.; the guests have commitments and schedules to keep; so does the hotel staff. I have been a Hilton guys for many years and spent numerous years while working as a Diamond member. I am now finding that more and more Hamptons fail to meet the Hilton standard and Hilton does nothing to enforce those standards. The Lafayette Hampton is added to my growing list of Hilton properties that are sorely lacking and unworthy of my unrequited loyalty.…
