My wife, 17 year old son and I arrived quite late for our reservation at Plantation Mouton. John and Ravi, the hosts, welcomed us with wine and pate' on the balcony of our room and generously gave our son a spare room across the hall. John joined us with his young son and his accordian and played and sang Cajun...

What a great place ! We found this online as we have been roadtripping through the south. It was much more than your usual place to stay. It is on the Historical register, and furnished with lovely antiques, the service and extras were exceptional. Some of the fixtures have seen better days and I wouldn't even mention it but I...

Staying at Mouton isn't just about a nice room in an historical house. Although you can lay your eyes and hands on different antiques, I was also captivated by the host passion and knowledge about Louisiana and Cajun traditions and history, and the way he tried to show it to us. Our experience was pleasant from the moment we arrive....

Check out the accordion player, John, your host at the Plantation Mouton. If you're nice to him he'll play you a song or two. Breakfast is really really good and they have a chef named Craig preparing them. Warning. Don't go there if you're on a diet.

Something about staying at some history. What a gracious couple. Real southern hospitality. Old plantation house. I think if the walls could talk... We didn't go in the swamp tours but here he does an amazing job

This is without a doubt the most charming B&B in Louisiana and the Gulf area. Your hosts, Coerte and Marge Voorhies, are the warmest, most hospitable, and charming hosts a guest could possibly want. The breakfast was true pain perdu with a Cajun twist (no spoiler here). The house is that of Lt. Gov. Charles Mouton, a lovingly kept Acadian...

“We've always stayed in the carriage house upstairs, & absolutely love how comfortable, clean, cool, quiet, & quaint it is! Quite a large room that can sleep 5. Has a huge, double-sink bathroom, shower in bathtub, with a mini-frig. Good places to eat @ all prices not too far.”
