I chose this hotel based on the reviews and number of stars..it had a 4.7 out of 5 rating. Also the website mentioned that it was a “fully” renovated hotel. I am pleased to announce that I had booked only one night and thank goodness that is all I booked!! This hotel was atrocious! Yes, the lobby was quite nice but the room was anything but renovated; look at the pics I attach. Upon arrival, the guy at the desk barely spoke to me and when I nicely advised that I had a reservation, he didn’t speak until he asked my name. He slinked back and forth behind the counter in no hurry to check me in and eventually just walked away with no explanation to come back several minutes later with a woman who took over checking me in. When I entered the room, I almost backed out to leave. But it was late, I was tired and I didn’t want to start searching for another place for just that one night. The room was so dirty, so much in need of repair and fixtures so old that they were rusting, there was no way this place had been renovated. I had bottles of water and food to keep in the fridge but there was little room to do so because the fridge was filled with a massive block of ice. There were holes in walls, and at baseboards plenty large enough for critters to get into the room. Before I was able to get into the shower, I had to send my husband to the front desk to complain about the filthy tub. They handed him a can of Comet. When I accidentally spilled a bit of water on the floor, I grabbed one of the hand towels to wipe it up and the hand towel turned out black. Again, check my pics. The bath towels were very small and thin. Obviously they were purchased from some dime store. When we checked in, we were presented with a breakfast card to present for a free breakfast sandwich. When we went for breakfast the next morning there were some prepackaged muffins and a couple of packages of instant oatmeal. When I went to the front desk snd inquired as to why we needed breakfast cards, I was told that breakfast sandwiches had run out and an employee was out to get more…it was unknown when they would return. In a nutshell, this place was just seriously disgusting. Absolutely NEVER AGAIN!!

I called to ask a simple yes or no question and the woman who answered the phone was VERY rude as if she didn’t want to be bothered. I am extremely unsatisfied with her demeanor. And I do not plan on returning to this location.

Canceled my reservations because of Covid-19 issues, long before refund date expired. Four weeks later, I have not received guaranteed refund. I made this reservation five months in advance in the hope that the pandemic had abated. I would not have done this if I had known the guaranteed rebate was a scam.

Went to Lafayette for Mardi Gras weekend. The hotel is nice and the staff is very friendly. We all enjoyed ourselves and had a great time. The room was very spacious and clean. Great location and very affordable. We will definitely be back.

I booked this hotel because The Ascend Collection is supposed to be more upscale. I totally get they are in the renovation phase but there are some issues we ran across. The sink was full of paint I guess that either drip while painting or was poured and it dried over the the 3 prong of the stopper as the top to the stopper was missing. The bathroom door has been repainted but they didn’t change the fixtures so the door would not stay closed. We went down for breakfast and nothing was hot, no coffee(they had to make some), Yogurt was poured into this bowl for everyone to get their own. That’s not sanitary at all. They should invest in individual yogurt packs. I tried to get Apple Juice and he sprout is broken and water splashed all over me. It awesome didn’t smell so fresh. I will say however the hotel was quiet. I expected more from The Ascend Collection.
