Was based at the hotel for a works course. The hotel itself is very much set up for business and certainly isn't somewhere I consider taking my Wife for a weekend away. The gym is small and the pool small and dingy. The food however was really good and the staff always friendly and attentful. I had a clearly refurbished room (could still smell the paint) which was nicely done, although the wardrobe was less than 20cm deep.

Lovely setting and decent rooms, clean, comfortable and quiet. Maybe slightly overpriced; rooms are similar to the big chains. Plenty of self service coffee machines in the morning and decent buffet style breakfast. Plenty of parking. Only slight complaint would be unattended reception during the evening.

First weekend away post lockdown - and although the hotel is safe - we felt they were using covid as an excuse to be lazy in their care of people staying more than one night. No clean towels. The bed was not refreshed. One paper cup not changed for the second night and the one tea bag was all we were given. The heating and hot water were not working until we complained. Then there must have been air in the pipes because the noise over night was awful. We won’t be rushing back.

What a lovely find! Highly recommend and can’t praise the staff enough!!! Midweek visit, following the reduced restrictions this week. Covid secure, clean and well maintained. Can’t remember the managers name (Think it was Tom or Dominic?....sorry) but he was lovely!! Breakfast was great, well managed and delicious! Didn’t stay for dinner as we had made plans locally, but menu looked great with plenty of options.

Written on announcement of 2nd Covid lockdown. Booked a 2 night stay through Groupon deals. Had a great, comfortable room, sorry no pictures. Used the pool, on arrival (bonus). Staff were polite, very accommodating, breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. *the second night, we had neighbour guest talking loudly in their room until 2am, maybe a large family get together, slamming doors as they went back to their own bedrooms! *we could not help to notice, numerous guests arriving for breakfast without face coverings, 5 groups we counted, wondering around the dinning room without being challenged-we decided to leave breakfast at this point.

Dear Guest Thank you for your review and I am pleased your stay was an enjoyable one. We do have comprehensive measures im place to ensure we are covid secure and we have had many positive comments from our guests stating how secure they feel. Our welcome pack on arrival details all the actions we are doing differently to keep our guests and team members safe druing this time. Alongside protective screening, social distancing, PPE, clear signage, high intenstiy cleaning and one way flow systems,. We have clear information informing all guests that PPE is required througout the hotel and that it can be taken off to eat and drink in the bar and restaurant. Where we see these rules are not been followed then staff have been fully trained on how to proceed. I do hope we get the chance to welcome you back soon and thank you once again for your review Kind Regards Dominic
