This place is CLOSED! And that's a good thing because roaches, roaches, and roaches. Need I say more? Upon arrival, the clerk acted like she did not want to talk to us let alone check us into a room. The room we were assigned had a roach in the bed and there were 2 more in the bathroom. My son said that he noticed some crawling around in the hallway and by the elevator. Gross! :(
We were the last flight in before Hurricane Barry closed the airport. The desk staff were very accommodating and got us booked in for a second night because we couldn't continue into New Orleans as planned. The room was ok, and the breakfast each morning was very good. A bit of a wait at the airport for the shuttle but return to airport was right on time.
Fairly clean and tidy hotel. Needs some updating and some TLC. The parking offers are fantastic though.. The staff was friendly, for the most part. Had a problem with the shuttle.. The young lady that checked us in didn't put us down for the shuttle ride at 03:45, I guess she forgot. So, when we showed up, no one was manning the front desk and we had to wait about 10 minutes before another young lady came out from the back.. She asked us, almost sharply, what we needed. I told her and then she had to wake up the shuttle driver..
Service is bad. Difficult to get checked into our room which was dirty and it was noisy from the airport. Give this place a pass as there are much better hotels in the area I have stayed at which are cheaper.
Too bad this conveniently located hotel doesn't live up to even minimum standards in hospitality. Although we had "gold" status, and had checked in online from the airport, when we arrived we were told no rooms were ready and to come back "after 4." We came back, waited in line, then were told there were no rooms left on the lower floor (that we had requested). We were given a room on a higher floor, but it had no microwave or fridge. When we went back to the desk and pointed this out, the clerk's response was "Well, not all our rooms have those." We were about to leave when the man later identified as the owner offered to bring one from another location. This was only one example of how things "worked" here. Although the Manager seems quite nice, most of the clerks were either ineffective, indifferent, or downright rude. Definitely not up to the usual Marriott standards and doesn't deserve to carry the name.…
