We stayed here in late October for two nights on our way to West Texas. I agree with the other reviewers largely. The cottages are very pretty. Outside though is really special. Sitting by the lake in the evening with a glass of wine was quite lovely and eating breakfast (provided in a basket and good) on the porch looking...

We are about 8 minutes off of I-10, conveniently close enough to tourist attractions but just far enough out of town, to get some quiet time. Our guests seem very content with this balance. Any "hum" would have to be such that all conditions are perfect- wind direction, hearing, etc.

Amazing couple of nights staying at Cajun Country Cottages. Beautifully kept cottages with a real old world feel but very comfortable. Delicious hand delivered breakfast every morning - what more could you ask for!! Boats available to paddle about on the lake right at the end of your own personal little dock...the list goes on.

We were fortunate to stay in the School House....simply adorable. I spent my entire time swinging on the wonderful porch swing enjoying the amazing quiet. While I did not meet Stephanie (we did have several phone conversations and she was charming), Chris and Kerri were delightful. The breakfasts were wonderful! We were so sad to have to leave, but we...

It was a great experience ! The price may be high, but it worths it. The cottage was very cosy and clean, with a good decoration. We had the Magenta Cottage, with a nice pontoon, old-fashioned pictures on the walls and a porche. The owner, Chris, is very friendly, and he brings the breakfast every morning (scrambled eggs, meat, bread,...

For a very short period of time we had an alligator in the lake BUT there is no longer an alligator in the lake. Hope our guests aren't disappointed. If you'd like to view an alligator we are not far from Lake Martin. You can normally spot alligators sunning themselves there.

We visited the Cajun Country Cottages this past week and we were sad to leave! This is the kind of place where you can get your fix of fishing, boating, canoeing, and relaxation all in one place, which is convenient and nice. Get away from the hustle and bustle and still have the comforts of home like wi-fi, TV, and...

We spent a much needed relaxing weekend at the Cajun Country Cottages. We live in Houston, and once a year I spend a very stressful week in NO working with a customer. I am always looking for a "reward" weekend at the end! I chose this location because it is half way back to Houston...sort of. The property is lovely!...

My wife and I just returned from our vacation on the Bayou. We stayed in "The Schoolhouse" as recommended by a colleague. We were not disappointed, and it exceeded all of our expectations. Our experience from booking to checking in the key was excellent. The breakfast baskets were delicious! We arrived during the hottest part of the season, but the...

Sis and I stayed in the Magenta for 6 days in June. The cottage was perfect and included everything anyone would need. The lake is beautiful and the surroundings are so peaceful we completely forgot about the outside world. Kallie brought us breakfast every morning in a red basket which was filled with eggs, sausage, biscuits, French toast, juice and...
