This is a nice little campground with full hookups, level sites, near the town, nestled in the hills with walking, dog parks, and usually clean bathrooms, although this trip the bathrooms were nasty They increased the rate from $25 to $40 for some reason. I see a government run park as something that is a public service to provide its clients with a reasonably priced place to stay while they support the local economy. We (as most visitors do) spent money on gas, groceries, restaurants, and other things during our stay. There are several events in the area and gouging visitors is not a great way to engender support for your city. I realize $40 is not astronomical, but there are essentially no amenities here (pool, campstore, on-site attendant, and since the bathrooms are shred with anyone who wants to walk through from the local area, they are not going to stay clean. Hopefully the man next to me was offered a free site as he was undergoing medical treatment nearby. Promote Pike County tourism by going back to the previous price and maybe the place will be more than half full.…
Excellent place to stay, very nice facilities and camp site was spacious and clean. Location was very easy to get to and very close to Pikeville down town. Very quiet and relaxing. Will stay again when in the area.
We stayed here for a night on our way to Tennessee very nice campground with lots of amenities, very poor wifi from our chosen site, and a very nice kids play area, not sure if cable or dish for TV that we didn't hook up to
The park is very nice and clean with full hookups. Unfortunately, being unable to have a campfire takes a lot away from the enjoyment of the experience. The inability to have a campfire would be understandable if dry conditions
We pulled our fifth wheel from Knoxville to Pikeville in anticipation of an extended stay due to declining health of my wife's mother. This was the only RV park we could find close so we took a chance. What a surprise!! Level concrete pads, water, sewage, and 50 amp service, all good. Cable TV was excellent, I think it was Direct TV, plenty of channels for sure. Daily garbage pickup also from the provided garbage can right on our sight. Gated entry was a plus. The only comment not strongly positive was the WiFi service. If was there, but weak. And did I mention the price? $25/night, a real bargain. We would definitely stay here again.
