We stayed this past weekend. The owners have really spent the money and time to present the Architecture, Time Period and Wealth of the Duponts'. For the money, a big jacuzzi and lots of space made this place money well spent. Mimi; The Keeper, her hospitality and cooking is excellent. Breakfast was superb, detailed, special and a joy to wake...

We appreciate your nice review. Mimi is a backup innkeeper, not available full time (we offered her the job) but she is great and we love her. She still comes occasionally. We are very pleased to have as part of our team now a lovely, talented couple that will take equally good care of our guests--so come on back!

Rich in history. The inn keeper, Helen, was very knowledgeable and helped us find the things we needed. For people who have never stayed in a B&B before this was a great experience. Breakfast was delicious. Started with juice and fresh fruit. Then we had an egg sausage casserole. We walked around the area that night and felt perfectly comfortable....

Thanks for the nice review. Travelers will appreciate the detail. Just a couple of observations: MANY guests remark that they wish they had made reservations for more than one night. Not only is this a nice place to stay but there is SOO much to see and do in Louisville and vacinity that it's much better to stay two, three...

This is a beautiful B&B. Great bedrooms, beautiful living rooms, snacks. I chose the establishment because it had breakfast. However, the owners have 2 places and sometimes serve breakfast at one place only. This happened to me on my visit. The host told me that I would be hearing from someone about where breakfast would be located. And if I...

Of course we wanted this guest to come to breakfast and we thought that we fully communicated, but clearly we did not. We are very sorry for the mixup. We have now instituted a new policy, in those infrequent cases where a guest is invited to have breakfast at our sister inn, We take the guest to the front porch...

This was the perfect place for our family reunion the weekend we celebrated our son and daughter-in-law's wedding. We booked all seven rooms for three nights and loved Our host, Helga, was gracious and hospitable and treated us royally. Our rooms were comfortable and spacious, and there were many other spots for relaxation and for enjoying each other's company. The...

Glad to return on our second visit to Louisville. Great, convenient location in the "Old Louisville Historic District" with free parking and good restaurants within walking distance. Also comparable & across the street is it's sister property the Inn at the Park which we stayed at on our third visit passing thru in the other direction. Warm, friendly, caring Innkeepers.

Harvey, Thanks for taking time to review us. FYI, our sister inn across the street has had a face lift, a new website, and a new name- It'd is now 'LOUSIVILLE BOURBON INN. Inn at the Park still exists. It is now the 3 bedroom carriage house across the garden from Louisvile Bourbon Inn. Guests and any one of the...

The DuPont Mansion is beautiful beyond belief...lovingly restored to its late 1800's elegance, exquisitely furnished with wonderful antique furniture, porcelain, silver, crystal chandeliers and art. Herb Warren, one of the owners, greeted us and gave us a very welcoming tour - inviting us to help ourselves to coffee, wine, pastries and snacks. The Innkeeper, Bekah, is a real treasure. She...

Leslie, We certainly appreciate the glowing review. Thank you! You shared some good tips for travelers as well. Just a heads up for when you return this summer: Bekah was an interim innkeeper (good as she was) and we are now staffed by a lovely, talented couple that will take great care of you as well. Hurry home!

We stayed 2 nights in the The Thomas Edison room. Beautifully decorated with a large bathroom with jacuzzi bath. A slight problem with having too much light at night as there is a window above the door which, although has a curtain, let in a lot of light. Breakfast was good but there was no choice. You had what was...

Thanks for the review and recommendation. I didn't know the hall light would ever be a bother because of the curtain over the window/transom. We will fix that right now by always turning that ceiling hall light off at night. There is sufficient dim lighting in the hall to assure safe passage anytime.

Stayed for two nights as we visited Louisville en route to Bourbon Country. The mansion was very well kept and Herb, the owner, greeted us and cooked us breakfast both days. Thanks for your detailed review of DuPont Mansion. You said many nice things about us and yet you rated your stay only as "four star". Probably that was what we deserved that day. I notice you said by breakfast was "Good"; "Not spectacular". Fact is, I strive to cook and serve a "Great" breakfast, and probably on that day it...

In Louisville to see "Phantom." Super B&B in a unique location of lovingly restored Victorian homes. Wonderful recommendation for dining - even made the reservation for us - and brought breakfast to us since one is handicapped. Well-stocked kitchenette on same floor.

I remember Paul because he and his wife so enjoyed seeing "Phantom of the Opra" and were super guests. Thanks for mentioning the kitchenette on the second floor. The DuPont Mansion B&B is an historic treasure with modern amenities. The tall ceilings, ornate fireplaces and carved woodwork look and feel like the circa 1889 Victorian Mansion that it is. Yet the high speed free WiFi throughout the Mansion, flat screen TVs in all guest rooms and Jacuzzi tubs in every bath (two are double) provide luxury beyond anything imagined over a century ago. ... more   less
