Our room (231 I think) was in the back corner of the hotel so we expected a peaceful nights sleep. There was a low humming noise that came on almost hourly. The toilet in the bathroom was wobbly and needed to be reseated and something was stuck by the exhaust vent or the paint was pealing. With the hotel being a newer one we didn’t expect to see these types of problems.

Hotel's Favourite
We had a fantastic stay here on our road trip through Kentucky. The location was great for us, with short drives to downtown Lexington and Keeneland. The plaza offers great options for shopping and food, but we found we did not have to go far. 33 Staves is attached to the hotel and has great apps and shareables, as well as fantastic bourbon drinks. We had been to Buffalo Trace the day we stayed and were very pleased to find it available on the menu. The room itself was really neat with trendy, high end finishes. This is truly a boutique hotel with local charm. Definitely recommend.

Origin Hotel Lexington is my new go-to. It is new, modern, friendly, upscale, and RIGHT in the middle of a fantastic shopping/outdoor mall center - The Summit. We hosted a wedding weekend and had all of our guests stay here. We all LOVED it. Not only were our rooms so modern/clean/well-appointed, but the staff was great, and there is a nice bar in the lobby and lots of cool lounging areas as well. Best of all, I did not have to worry about my guests being entertained because the hotel is surrounded by fabulous shops - Whole Foods, Starbucks, Anthropologie, Core Life, Crank & Boom (ice cream), Athleta, just to name a few. We could walk right out the lobby door to any number of restaurants/shops. Also, they are not just pet-friendly, they had treats and gifts for any pets that were brought along. It made the owners feel really great - their pets were not just tolerated...they were celebrated! It was a fantastic weekend, and we hated to leave. We are already planning our next stay. :)

First, let me say that this is a beautiful property, conveniently located, with a hospitable staff. You can tell this is a relatively new property and it has been well maintained. I loved the location which was very close to lots of shopping, restaurants, the local mall, and very close to all the major roads you will need to easily navigate around Lexington. Overall, the staff was hospitable and kind. And I have to mention, the bed was really comfortable which is always a huge benefit when you’re away from home. However, we did have a few problems during our stay that make me hesitant to recommend this hotel or stay there during my next visit to Lexington. First, our room was pretty clean but the cleaning crew did miss a random razor in the shower (it was behind the dispensers so it would have been easy to miss) and a few other minor details. However, with the price of the hotel, it’s a little disappointing that they didn’t have the room looking its best when we arrived. Second, the air conditioning unit was extremely noisy and randomly would make a high-pitched noise when running. It wasn’t continuous and we weren’t spending a ton of time in the room so we decided to live with it. Finally, the hotel is very dog friendly (which I appreciate because we have traveled with our dog), but they don’t let you know when you are on a floor with pets. This became a problem for us after we returned to the hotel after a long day to go to bed and had to listen to barking and whining dogs for several hours. The dogs kept us up until almost 2 am and we had an early morning the next day. The gentleman at the front desk said there was nothing he could do, except charge that room a “disruption fee”, but that didn’t help us at all. Upon check-out we shared our experiences with the staff and they were very apologetic and offered to refund $100 (which was almost a 20% discount on our overall 2-night stay). We thanked them for the gesture but then they never credited the $100 back to our account. VERY DISAPPOINTING! It was a “hit or miss” experience for us at this hotel but at the rate they charge there are much better options in the area. Wish I could recommend this property because of the positives but my advice is to choose a hotel that will give you a great experience.

We came in town for the UK Football game and decided to try the Origin. This hotel was perfect for what we needed. We took our pups to Pet Suites, but they unexpectedly called to let us know they were closed on Labor Day. We brought the pups to the Origin and they enjoyed their stay as well.
