I tried this hotel for the first time and was EXTREMELY disappointed. When I arrived the parking was very limited and spaces underneath the facility are tight and also have columns making most spaces even worse. First night there my brand new car was given a nice 2 foot scratch on the drivers side passenger door by a white pick up truck and the hotel said they would not be able to do anything about it. Also, a $400 per night Ocean View room should not have a bathroom door which doesn't close shut let alone lock. My second night there my new car was hit on the passenger side door by another vehicle. I was so aggravated that I left a day early and was not offered any type of refund or compensation. I don't think I will be going here again and will stay at The Reges or Icona where parking isn't limited and your room has working doors. Would not recommend this hotel unfortunately.…
My family and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the Regal Plaza. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Wildwood area. We thought they provided great value for what they charge per night. We met most of the employees throughout our stay and they all were very friendly and accommodating, especially Joyce and Cathy and one other woman whose name I don’t remember. My girlfriend and I booked an oceanfront/king room with a balcony and other family members had an oceanfront room with two twin beds and a balcony (or maybe 2 queens, whatever). They ended up giving us rooms next door to each other which was a nice surprise. Our room (308) was of adequate size with a wonderful ocean view, looking down to the pool area. The ambient ocean noise was very peaceful. It looked as though it had been partially renovated not long ago. We liked the heavy duty metal door to enter the room as some places use flimsy wooden doors you could plow through without much effort. The room was very clean and bed and pillows very comfortable. WiFi was generally pretty decent inside the room and around the property. Good water pressure at all times from the sink and shower. The tv was newer, and the room had a refrigerator. One complaint could be that the bathroom is kind of tight with a small sink and not much room for toiletries. They only provided soap so bring your own shampoo and lotion. They have a great pool which is open from 10-7. We found it to be very clean and spacious and there are 3 barbecue grills in the area to use while your there. Plenty of lounge chairs to utilize and a spigot to rinse off with. Parking is tight, as is expected but they mention this when you book and there is enough room for all guests. If you’ve never been to the Wildwood Crest/Diamond Beach area I highly recommend it. The beach is beautiful and clean with sand so fine it resembles cinnamon sugar. You’re only minutes from the heart of Wildwood if that’s what you desire, but far enough away to be quiet and tranquil. There’s a couple stores within walking distance and a great restaurant called the Crab House just minutes away. Cape May is about a 15 minute ride also (unless you get stuck at the drawbridge). It was our first time there and we will definitely be back. Thank you! Brett G. …
My family has been coming to this hotel for over a decade and while it’s almost always satisfied our needs, this visit was truly disappointing. We brought our 2 month old to experience his first vacation and the room REEKED of pot from 7:30pm until the very wee hours of the morning. They moved us down one level (in the same ventilation block) because, miraculously, there was one opening (the couple that was supposed to be there left a night early... because it smelled TERRIBLE). So yes, if you are comfortable smelling someone else smoking in their room to share with your room, this is the perfect hotel for you. Best of luck.
Husband and I came here for our anniversary weekend. We stayed in north efficiency room. It is not a private balcony, but you have a pretty nice view of the ocean. Rooms are non-smoking, however, people can smoke on the balcony. The pool and pool area was clean. Only drawback to the pool is that there is not a bathroom nearby. Not a big deal for us, but if you have little kids or mobility issues this could be a deal breaker. When we checked in. we were given some vouchers for the restaurant, Jamaica Me Hungry, and ate breakfast there almost every day. It was pretty good, never a wait, and nice and convenient. The only thing that was a negative for us was the room was really musty/ moldy smelling when we arrived. I had an asthma attack that evening and had a hard time sleeping the first night. We cranked the a/c and made sure to keep all of our wet clothing/ bathing suits, etc out of our room and the rest of the days were much better. Keep in mind the living room and bedroom are carpeted which does not help if you have asthma. But, it was definitely better after the first day. This is common at the shore with hotels that have carpeting. The weather was also humid and I know that played a part in the musty smell. Best of all, this is at the end of Wildwood Crest and the hike to the beach is a little shorter. That was a nice surprise. Car parking slots also seemed a little wider than the typical shore hotel. Overall it was a great stay and we plan to come back next year. …
They tell you the pool is heated, it is not. They say no smoking but guests smoke on the balcony and it blows into your room. Balconies are the smallest I have ever seen. They say they are private, they are not. Had to keep the slider closed due to smoke and screaming kids in the pool till 8pm! Ocean front room had new furniture but ceilings are cracked and old, new sliding doors, AC works well, but ancient ventilation, water pressure was great, showers were nice, bath floor was not clean. Maid service did not show up our 1st day had to complain front desk made it look like it was our fault. Elevator is slow, old and shakes. Hotel carts are corroded with rust. Front desk attendants are older people who all appear to hate their jobs and are not courteous. At check in they were fighting with a customer on the phone and then short changed us. They say pool is heated it is not. Garage will only fit compact cars, it’s very tight. Beds are very comfy and pillows are also. The furniture is too large for the room. It’s a very old building, the restaurant on the bottom was horrible for dinner, but waitress was sweet. It’s close to the beach but can’t compete with places in area. Guests in breezeway room on 4th floor said AC leaks from ceiling and room was musty and smelled. Not a great experience will not go back…
