Let’s just say we have had a hard day, our motorhome totaled by a drunk driver. Sat on the highway for 8 hours waiting for wrecker. Finally get to Georgetown for the night at 2 am. We had Booked a room At another hotel , get there sold out. Ended up here by no choice of ours. I used to stay at these a couple years ago but went downhill. This place is so gross! The floors are filthy throughout the lobby and halls. Upon walking into our room that smells like a skunk roaches crawling on the wall. My husband killed them with his wallet. Gross! The floors in the room look like they haven’t been cleaned for some time. The carpets are stained. Mold in bathroom and the curtains are nasty. Look up and spider webs and pretty big spiders. Just nasty. No pride in cleaning here I guess. And we were told it’s a 3 night min stay.. there is NO way I’m staying here 3 nights!!…
Nice size room, well appointed and pretty well clean. There should be more attention to detail. One of the lights along side the bathroom mirror was out. Asked at the front desk for a replacement. She said someone would be there in about an hour but no one came. A piece for the top of the coffee pot was missing so we couldn't make any in the room. The tub faucet constantly dripped and there was mold on some of the caulking around the tub. The breakfast was pretty pathetic. Not very much selection at all and there was not even creamer for the coffee. Who doesn't at least have coffee done right?
The stay was just alright. The area felt safe and there was nothing terribly wrong with the rooms other than the AC unit not getting cool, but there was nothing really above average about the rooms either. the remote for the TV was intermittent, there was no guide for the TV so channel surfing was more like channel paddle boarding. Of course, "breakfast" is to-go, so that's awesome. Everything is blamed on Covid and it seems the hotel industry is no different.
I'm starting to become disappointed in Comfort Suites. This hotel was fine, a bit shabby, but overall, it was ok. Comfort Suites used to be so nice. But I am finding as the Indian/Muslims come in and buy these properties up, they do not keep up with maintenance. The indoor pool at this property was very drab and the hot tub did not work. They did offer up a better breakfast than the Quality Inn I stayed at the week before. Quality Inn offered nothing but coffee, and even that was lukewarm. One point I should make is that we were traveling with our dog. Perhaps, that might have been why our hotel room was a bit shabby. Pet fee of $20 per night, was very reasonable, as was the Quality Inn, which was $10 per night.
This is our go-to motel for our trips from GA to MI. Rooms accommodate our 5-6 person family (two semi-adults can’t always make it every trip). We were pleasantly surprised to find the pool finally open! Rooms are always clean, beds are comfortable, and staff are pleasant.
