Arrived on a Thursday prior to Labor Day weekend. Thought we only needed an overnight stay due to truck issue during our travels to Savannah Ga. We had the truck towed to dealership close-found out it needed parts and repairs which could take up to 3 weeks or longer!! This put us in a bind since we were unable to move out of campsite the next day. Campground was full for the holiday which included our site. Thank goodness for the Elkhorn campground folks working with us. Shout out to Kathy who rescued us by making arrangements in order for us to stay through the weekend (or even longer if needed) which gave us the time needed to figure out what to do. To make a long story short we bought a new truck and hitch. Word of advice... do not accidentally put DEF in your gas tank!!! Anyway, we will come back to this hidden gem of a campground and hit the bourbon trail in our future that we did not get to enjoy during this stay!…
We highly recommend this campground. Our visit began with very friendly staff. The property is well laid out and meticulously maintained. Many sites are on the Elkhorn Creek and have water and electric. Interior sites have full hook ups. Very clean showers and bathrooms. They also have a pool. It's not far from grocery stores and shopping. We will go again any time we are in the area.
Absolutely beautiful campground with super friendly staff/management. Our site (#10) was right along the creek where we enjoyed the amazing bird life that included families of geese and a lone white swan. Several varieties of songbirds also live along the creek. It’s a family & dog friendly place that is CLEAN and well cared for. Water pressure was excellent, nice pool, large parking pads, mini golf, playground, laundry room and camp store. The store has the necessities and the prices were fair. Try their delicious ice cream! Highly recommend and would come back again if in the area.
Folks here were great! I called when we were about one and a half hours away to make our reservation. Upon arrival I realized I had put us on a site with no fire ring. They changed us immediately to a site right along Elkhorn Creek. The view was very calming. Site was very close to level, did not take much adjusting. Highly recommend.
We were unable to get a full hook up site but we only needed electric anyway. We had a nice long pull thru site (97) and we were parked next to a nice family. We enjoyed visiting some of the distilleries in the area. The people behind sites 98 and 99 parked their big trucks on those lots which caused a problem for other rv's to pull into their site. I let one pull across our lot to get in. We did ask one of the people to move his truck to let someone pull into their site which he did reluctently. I never saw anyone from the campground ride thru the park.
