Honest review. I know nothing is perfect but this hotel almost is. The only thing I think could change is a microwave lol. I know I know something small but when you go out and want to warm your food up but can’t it isn’t fun and a little frustrating . I came for my birthday but went to the Cincinnati Bengals vs The Baltimore Ravens (my home town) and the hotel did provide us transportation to the football arena which is a major plus. The bar is a wonderful experience, I throughly enjoyed Mitch and other bartenders , very kind, knowledgeable and super friendly. The bourbon drinks are marvelous and the brunch. I wanted to do my birthday dinner here but the dinner menu doesn’t have many options. I loved the rooms very clean and house keeping came to clean the room’s daily. The staff is super accommodating and I will return. Thank you to all staff members, the check in was super easy and fast also.…
This is one of the best hotel stays we’ve had in a very long time! Hotel Covington is beautifully renovated with lots of modern twists and the staging of current clothing with archival objects is a classic reference to its Department store history. The lobby and bar areas are beautiful, and the patio is very inviting. The rooms are beautiful and have great amenities, with specially curated mini bars. Probably the best lighting fixtures in any hotel room we’ve ever stayed in. We use their car shuttle service to go to dinner and back in North Cincinnati, and they were very accommodating. We loved our stay, and can’t wait to come back!
Nice hotel with nice rooms and a great staff. Many restaurants at various price ranges are available within an easy (5-10 minute - or less) walk. My only issues with the hotel are: 1. Ironing boards are 'compact sized' and difficult to use 2. No actual closets - full size clothe hanging is a challenge 3. It's a favorite with groups that are there to party. Hallways can get loud - even late into the night. Also, the patio can get loud and the noise radiates upward. 4. Construction can be an issue if you need to work from your room.
The rooms are well appointed and the bathrooms very well done. I found my stay to be almost perfect, except for the music that played until midnight on a Friday night that kept me from sleeping well before my flight and necessitated me leaving the hotel to sleep at a friend's house, thereby negating the reason for staying in a hotel to begin with.
I attended a family wedding at Hotel Covington and they did an incredibly good job. The staff was all very pleasant. The food was great and the atmosphere was excellent. It is an older building that has been revovated very nicely. The main area and bar area are delightful. The interior courtyard is lovely but unfortunately it rained so events were moved indoors. The rooms were very nice a plenty large enough. I recommend it highly. The surrounding area has plenty of fun and interesting bars/ restaurants.
It was so so so so comfortable. Employees were nice, the lobby smelled wonderful. It was an oasis after our travels. I would highly recommend if you are in the area to stop and get a cozy night’s stay.
Enjoyed the view from the Latonia Suite, and loved the ambience. The bed was comfortable with crisp sheets and luxurious faux fur accents. The historic back story was a lovely touch. We pass through Kentucky at least once a year on the way to visit family, and this was a romantic place to stay, Will stay here again!
A remarkable place – one of the very best. Flawless service (by that, I mean, polite, professional, prompt, well-dressed, well-spoken, and well-prepared - you get the idea...), a stylish room (love the high ceilings, the great shower, and nice touches like a decent radio). Gift shop sells Woodford Reserve, decent socks and neckties and lots of other uncommon goodies). Breakfast and lunch and bar always good (did not have dinner there). It's ALL good, but of the "bad" parts - if you don't know that before you book, blame yourself - not the hotel (with a bad rating, for instance). The place is used for plenty of weddings, so if an occasional crowd of well-dressed happy people bothers you - you've been notified. It's pricey, it's not on the river, there is no pool, and the neighborhood - while improving - is not for everyone. But you know those things before you book, right? So let them go...and just enjoy! NO PLACE is perfect for everyone. Parking is about 100 feet away, in a deck - $12/day. Valet is $20, if you choose. Coffee is free - but you might have to ask for it. It's not part of any points program. Common areas are scented. Some construction noise outside (obviously not at night). Prefer a real door on the bathroom to barndoor. I don’t care about any of those things – so – 5 stars!…
I honestly wish I could just live in this hotel (I'm a writer, so I do a lot of retreats in various towns, usually in larger spaces, but this hotel has that vibe and I'd love about two weeks to "live" here). It's upscale without being fussy and awkward. The food and drinks are top notch, the staff goes out of their way to be both nice and accommodating. Rooms are large, comfortably firm bed, great showers, great touches that reflect the history of the area and Kentucky/Ohio as a whole. The town itself is a hidden gem, tons of restaurants and history/historic architecture out the front door. I can't recommend it highly enough.
We were in Covington for a wedding and the rehearsal dinner was at Hotel Covington and it was lovely. We were greeted by Ron at the door and he helped us get in the building and parked smoothly. The front desk staff were all attentive and friendly (didn't get names, sorry). I appreciated the communication with the staff via chat and email. I had asked to be near my son/daughter-in-law to help with grandson, and we were across the hall! Any questions we had were quickly answered. Well done. The rehearsal dinner was fabulous - the brisket was especially delicious and even the green beans are cooked to perfection (that's hard to do on a buffet.) We had breakfast at in the restaurant on Saturday morning before heading to the Newport Aquarium with our grandson. It was just the right start to our day. Eggs were perfect - and we are picky about eggs. Our server was especially helpful, After the Aquarium, we enjoyed some quiet time in our King room (plenty of room) before heading to the wedding. Our room was clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. We liked the open closet and the bed was comfy. Sunday (Mother's Day) we had breakfast in our room (we don't usually) and it was just as good as at the dining room. If we make another visit to the Covington area, we would definitely try to stay at Hotel Covington. …
