now this is what I expect from Marriott. Clean, pleasant staff and a very nice stay. I will more than likely stay again on my return visit home. Bed was comfy, room was clean and tv positioning was ideal.
BG has become our home away from home with two kiddos at WKU. Typically we stay at Hyatt close to campus. Due to high rates there, we decided to try Fairfield Inn & Suites, and we are very glad we did. We felt welcomed as soon as we checked in. Accommodations were clean and comfy. Staff was attentive and hospitable. Rates were very reasonable for move-in weekend at WKU. Location was convenient for all places BG. We will definitely return and highly recommend.
Spent one night in the Fairfield Inn in Bowling Green. This was our first stay in Fairfield properties, and we were very much pleased. Reception was friendly and efficient, the room was spacious with excellent amenities, and breakfast was very good. In summary, all one could expect in either a travel or business-stay hotel. We will repeat.
This place has great potential. The look and design is really nice and the rooms are sleek and modern. Of course none of that matters if the place isn’t clean, which is what we experienced. When we checked in we were asked if we wanted a room on the third or fourth floor. Not wanting to hear noise from people above us we chose the fourth floor (which is the top floor). When we got to the room we found sticky gunk on the nightstand, stains on the comforter, mold around the shower drain and dirt on the walls of the shower stall. We immediately went back down to the front desk and asked for a different room. We were told that there were no more rooms available, and that the hotel was full. I asked about the room we were offered on the third floor, but was told that the people who checked in right after us had taken it. The lady at the desk offered to come to the room to clean it up, and she did apologize, but not wanting more people in the room than was necessary (it’s a covid thing), we said we would clean the room ourselves. She again apologized and said she would give us a discount. It was later in the day, and we really didn’t want to spend the next few hours looking for somewhere else to stay, so we went back up to the room (415) and, for the next 30 minutes we cleaned the room (we always brings wipes and disinfectant with us). We didn’t clean the shower because we weren’t going to expose ourselves to disturbed mold. Once the room was clean (at least to the point of us feeling somewhat comfortable) we were able to finally settle in. I will say, the bed was comfortable. Here’s the kicker. After we got on the road the next morning I checked the bill…we were charged the rate I booked; no discount. So, on top of having to clean the room, the promised discount didn’t happen. The really sad thing about this is now we’re reluctant to stay at Fairfield Inns. While that might not seem fair, there are so many choices when it comes to hotel chains…why risk it? And yes, we understand that the workforce of businesses is stretched; we get it. But it’s not unreasonable to expect a hotel room to be clean. Like I said, this place could be really, really nice. The bones are there; they just need to up their game as far as housekeeping is concerned and follow through when they make a promise to their guests. One last thing (and this isn't the hotel's fault). When you exit I-65 there is construction on Scottsville Road all the way to Cave Mill Road where you turn left to get to the hotel. Traffic is horrendous. Don't let the street view on Google maps fool you.....it's a mess.…
The staff were great-front desk and breakfast area. The breakfast was great. Property was in very good condition. However, I room was really musty-thus the rating. We will look for another Marriott property if we need accommodations when we are passing through.
