Stopped here on our long drive home. Requested and received a suite on the top floor. It was very clean and roomy. The room basically had everything a family would need: clean white linens, a dining table, comfy beds, multiple hooks and mirrors - everything was thoughtfully located and decorated in calm and earth tones. Our suite also had a full size fridge, mini stove and microwave, dishes, dishwasher, and a pantry, which would be great for an extended stay.
I made my reservation using the app. That was good. Upon arrival, there was no welcome-just a request to see license and credit card. I wasn’t provided any information about amenities, hours for breakfast, etc. generally I’m offered a bottle of water based on my status. When there was no offer, I asked about it. She said they don’t do that. Ummm??? This check in process happed close to midnight. Then, I went to my room #421) and grabbed a water glass from the cupboard. It had sticky brown stuff on the rim. In the bathroom, it appeared that there was a streak of toothpaste/spittle on the door mirror and the cabinet face. In the morning, I took the glass to the front desk to show the poor cleaning and to explain about my other findings, I was told she would pass it on. No apology. Barely a reaction which makes me wonder if this is common feedback. I was at this same hotel 2 1/2 weeks prior and did not notice anything amiss. A new person was at the front desk when I formally checked out. I was not asked about my stay (a missed opportunity). Or, they just don’t care. This certainly is not consistent with prior stays.…
I stayed here as a stop off point on the way to Indy for the 2022 CFB NC Game. The hotel is in a good location, but I had some issues. The room was a typical Townplace Suites. I am a titanium elite member. I am very familiar with all of the Marriott brands. I didn't have high expectations, but this one did not meet my modest expectations. The room smelled somewhat musty. It seemed clean, but just had a musty smell. The biggest issue I had was the noise. I had a third floor room. I typically get a top floor room, but couldn't in this case. The hotel is constructed such that the noise from the floor above directly transferred into my room. It sounded like a stampede above me. I called the front desk and they seemed to address it, but it started right up in the early morning hours. I should have pressed for a 4th floor room. On the plus side, the staff was friendly and they filled a request for foam pillows that I made from the app.…
Great location and room setup is nice (2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with kitchenette) but it’s just not super clean. There was a toothpaste type stain all over the front of the under sink cabinets, inside of drawers in bathroom and bedrooms have residue/crumbs/need cleaned, fridge had standing water inside plus red sticky stains on shelves, plates in cupboard had dried food on them, carpet very much needs a thorough vacuuming plus a good shampoo (keep your socks on!) Plus there was no toilet paper aside from the half roll on the holder and only conditioner (no shampoo) and no other personal amenities provided. Bed was comfy enough but I itched and worried about cleanliness and didn’t sleep well since everything else was off. Outside is pretty and well maintained . Lobby bright and colorful, pool & gym small but nice (I didn’t use but walked through.) Staff is friendly and responsive with what they could do to help - we needed sheets for the sofa bed and more towels and they ran them up right away at 9 pm but I honestly wish we had just skipped the stop and driven on through the night to get home. This location has potential - I think with covid staffing issues they are just unable to do room cleaning as thoroughly as needed but it adds up and is borderline gross. It’s really too bad.…
Rooms were cozy and clean. Only about a mile off the highway. Lots to do in BG, KY and would stay here again! Staff was welcoming and friendly . We would definitely stop on our way through again and again. It was nice and cold rooms and lots of parking for cars. Didn’t hit breakfast.
