When we arrived we noticed that there was a round stain on one of the beds - it went through the sheets all the way to the mattress. I approached the unfriendly manager and he was immediately belligerent; stating that it was impossible because he himself cleaned the room. However, upon inspection he acknowledged the stain and told me that "the cleaner" had not cleaned the room properly. He and the cleaner then replaced the sheets but inexplicably left the stained mattress protector on the bed for me to sleep on. The bath was also leaking for some strange reason. And the air conditioner/heating was so loud we had to turn it off so we could sleep. The strange this is, the whole place was empty, so they could have just moved us to another room. My advice: spend the extra $30 and stay at a Comfort Inn.

My wife and I booked this room on hotwire as we were going to be in the area for the bourbon trail and were pleasantly surprised by our accommodations. Our room was spotless and was clearly somewhat recently renovated. Due to the CoronaVirus they told us they weren't going to service the room as usual (unless we asked, and that perfectly fine by us) but if we needed anything to come to the desk and they'd give us what we need. Each time we spoke with someone at the front desk they were very pleasant and helpful. Oh! the location is PERFECT if you're touring the trail, there's 5 distilleries less than 5 miles away and several more less than 30 minutes away. We absolutely would recommend the Old Bardstown Inn. We hope to come back again soon!

Looking for a place to stay and I was tired of driving. Wound up in Bardstown. Found this place because of a sign on the highway that said lodging. Stopped in the Walmart parking lot and googled the place and it seemed ok, so we took a chance. Such pleasant people at the desk. Ring the bell, you're not allowed in the office...covid...or the pool...covid...or use the ice machine...covid. Rooms have been updated with new flooring and bath fixtures. It is clean as a whistle with good AC and plenty of space. Beds are comfy. Clean campus too. Wifi is in and out, but the TV works. Honestly, we're never going back to Kentucky but if we did, we'd stay here again for sure.

Great value . Rooms were clean and updated. Beds were covered in zip up fabric mattresses which shows they are conscious of cleanliness .. Keep in mind this is an older hotel but we were pleasantly surprised for our our one night stay.

In the past few years I have steered away from the "local owned" discount motels. But I will have to say we were pleasantly surprised! The price was a great value and the room and property was very clean and maintained. The (free) breakfast isn't much. But there is a McDonald's about .01 mile away. If you are looking for a clean place to stay at a fair price while in Bardstown then this place is worth it!
