This place was fairly typical of what I would call "campgrounds plus" in Iceland. Our little cottage with four bunks, heater, sink, hot-plate, and dishes was clean, cozy, and the beds were in good condition. There was a separate building with bathrooms and a common cooking / dining area. The camping area looked reasonable and comfortable. Everything was clean. My... More

We enjoyed our stay here as the grassy areas are next to horses and sheep. Location is convenient to glaciers. The ambience is quite nice. The office is available to sit in for wifi and free charging. We appreciated the coin operated washer and dryer in the basement. Bathrooms were very clean and plentiful. All in all a nice place.

We loved this accommodation, the customer service offered by Palina before we booked was excellent. We had a private room in the main house which was small, simple, but clean. The price was extremely reasonable especially given the high cost of sleeping in Iceland! The house had a dining room, endless hot water in the shower, and an amply supposed... More

There is nothing extraordinary about this campsite however we appreciated our stay for the following reasons: it is less crowded and less expensive than skaftafell, there is a kitchen and a large dining room (inside), there are hot showers (only two though) and it is run by nice locals. Everything is included in the price ! Also there is a... More

I was here for camping only, liked that they had all the kitchen needs, also, this was the cleanest campsite I have been to! Staff was nice, the wi-fi was free. Showers are included in that small 1500kr price per camping night per person

We stayed in the apartment in the main house. It was a 3 room apartment in the basement. Once you got through the long dark hallway, the apartment was fine. We had a basic room with a bunk bed and a small desk. The kitchen facilities are adequate, and the bathroom was clean. There is only 1 bathroom for the... More

We spent one night at Svinafell in a room in the main house where we had opted to use our sleeping bags to save on money. The room was very clean and had all of the basics. The communal kitchen (well equipped) dining room and shared bathroom were also spotless. Very handy and functional. A good place to stop off... More

If you are not camping, there's nowhere near to Skaftafell National Park to stay. The hotel at Freysnes is expensive so Svinafell farm is your best bet. It's about 8k from the Visitor centre and you can catch a bus at about 9.00 and one back at about 17.30, if you don't have your own transport. You can book your... More

We spent there two nights camping. I can say it's one of the best campground we have seen in Iceland. It's mainly because of large dining area inside the building. There is space for a lot of people, but it's always full and rather smelly because of non-existing ventilation. The other facilities are good, clean toilets, hot shower (even if... More

We camped there for two nights. The camping site is located near Skaftafell, so it is good alternative to staying in the much more crowded and expensive camping inside the park. Also the price is fair. Theses are the positives. On the negative side, we visited the place in August 2015, so it was peak season I guess. The dining... More
