We arrived at 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed with diners having Sunday lunch. The rooms all appear to be in outbuilding set in the grounds but fear not they are well appointed, warm and comfortable. There was even an umbrella on the back of the door in case of rain. On Sunday evening the restaurant...

Post Xmas birthday meal with 6 adults and 2 kids. Most had roast I had the steak. Good food all round, chicken roast a bit stingy on the meat. Decent beers and wine. Lovely setting. They allow dogs in the bar. Puddings better than mains.

A lovely New Years Eve spent in this characterful pub in Thurnham . The chalets ( rooms in the gardens of the pub) were comfortable , clean and roomy, nice touches like a small lit Christmas tree in each room, an umbrella if needed for the walk to and from the pub. We booked this in September to spend NYE...

After reading some mixed reviews we were more than pleasantly surprised when we stayed for one night at The Black Horse Inn. The staff were friendly and could not do enough to make our stay wonderful. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean and well maintained as was the bathroom. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. We met...

Went here for Sunday lunch. Food ok, arrived quickly enough and staff were pleasant. Big problem for me - dogs. 3 dogs around me, lady at next table sitting eating with a dog on her lap. We had a dog until recently but I wouldn't take it to a restaurant out of respect for other diners.

Here at the venue for a 40th, arrived early so had a spot of lunch in the pub. Beautiful building, fab service and yummy food.
