This was the perfect hotel in a nice quiet town to fit my personality. The hotel is beautiful. It looks how it must have looked back 100 years ago. For those who don't do stairs, this hotel isn't for you although you can access the restaurant downstairs, you wouldn't be able to access any of the rooms. Since I was...

Our room and bathroom had been recently and very nicely remodeled. The wifi was good, stable and fast. We asked for extra pillows which they supplied. The food and drinks were fine and very well priced.

This is a quaint hotel with a nice little restaurant but beware staying here to sleep on a Saturday night. Loud bar music on the first floor vibrated and blasted throughout the second floor where we were trying to sleep, and nearly 10 minutes after bar close we had to go down and ask the bartender to turn the music...

The rooms are quaint, the hotel is wonderfully historic, the restaurant and bar were all I could ask for! GREAT FOOD!!!!! Especially the homemade PIE. The owners were very accommodating & hospitable. the staff went above & beyond to assist us in every way! We heard there was a ghost, but did not notice anything abnormal.

The Hotel is an interesting place to stay as it is on the Registry of Historic Places. The wood work and layout were from a bygone time. We had a group dinner - the service and food served family style was outstanding. The mattress in our room is another story. The springs were visible and they were very uncomfortable to...

We were lucky to have gotten a room at the Franklin Hotel due to a large Bluegrass festival being held in the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When I was a kid back in the 60's we stayed in Hotels like this when we were on vacation the big difference being we did not have to share...

This hotel was built about 1869 - so it is not a brand new hotel by any stretch of the imagination. We were assigned a room at the top of the stairs - no elevator by the way - which was recently updated as far as draperies and things but the sink, which was in the room is probably one...

I had a long weekend to cross Iowa so I decided to explore some back roads. Strawberry Point seemed like a good place to pass through. I stopped for lunch at the Franklin Hotel. It is an small historic hotel with a bar and a dining hall on the ground floor. The hotel have a nostalgic feel. The areas were...

My sister and I were in town for a wedding in the state park nearby. The historic Franklin Hotel was our only choice. We needed 2 beds but no double rooms were available so they accommodated us with a rollaway. The price was $25 per person per night. Negatives: Small and stuffy room with uneven floor and peeling wall paper...

Had Erin for a server. She was very attentive and friendly. We heard they had prime rib on Saturdays and since it was our anniversary weekend, we wanted a nice meal. We weren't disappointed. Service was prompt and food was so good. Had a baked sweet potato and it was perfectly done and steaks were great.
