Beautiful old home-the owners did a wonderful job restoring it and making it feel warm and welcoming. Clean and comfortable rooms, friendly atmosphere. Loved the coffee and fresh-cooked breakfast! We would highly recommend this B&B.

My family spent the night here to visit the apple orchards in Gays Mills. The atmosphere was very casual and friendly. We had a great stay and breakfast was superb. Mc Gregor is a neat town that is easy to explore. Have fun we did.

Looking for a quaint Mississippi River town – it’s in Marquette/McGregor/Prairie du Chien. There’s a lot of history and is in the very scenic driftless area of Wisconsin/Iowa. Looking for a quaint Mississippi River Bed and Breakfast – it’s at the Stauer House in McGreagor, Iowa … and, there’s a lot of history in the house! When we arrived, we...

Stayed here after 4th of July. We were a family and needed 3 rooms. they were so hospitable to us. We ate ice cream we purchased on our own using their bowls and stayed up and talked in the livingroom as if it were our own house. the rooms were clean and fresh with nice amenities. Breakfast in the morning...

I was looking for a place near the Mississippi river to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. McGregor is a quaint town just across the river from Prairie du Chien, WI. There are a lot of tourist oriented shops on the main street, but there are also a lot of vacant store fronts. The Stauer House was a very laid back experience....

We liked this B&B, but were a little bummed out because much of the town was closed due to a water main break. We didn't learn that until we walked there looking for a place to eat. But the B&B was comfortable with parking out front. Breakfast was delightful.

Such a nice place. I've stayed in quite a few B&Bs, and this has to be in the top 5 of all of them. The owner lives on site and is really friendly. When I reserved a room, they did not ask for payment in advance. One great thing about this B&B is they have a room with 2 beds....

We stayed at the Stauer House B&B from June 8-14, 2014. The house was filled with history and charm. We stayed in the Captain's Room and the Ramage Suite. We liked both room's,but preferred the Captain's Room because the bath was in the room. The Ramage Suite had it's own private bath just down the hall. The beds were very...

We are frequent visitors to B&B's and enjoyed our stay very much. There was a large buffet style breakfast each morning with freshly baked goodies. There was no daily housekeeping in the room, but the bathroom was checked daily. The hostess was very knowledgable about the area and its history. The house has a very interesting history also, as does...
