The hotel was absolutely beautiful - renovated back to the original Frank Lloyd Wright architecture and furnishings. There were multiple levels and lounges to enjoy the ambiance. The 1910 restaurant was superb all entrees were spot on. Any sauce or embellishment enhanced the entree but...More

Any review has to start with the fact that the hotel is Frank Lloyd Wright designed. It is a thrill to stay at a hotel designed by him and we liked that our room looked out at a park with a statute of him facing...More

This is a wonderful stop. You know that it's Frank Lloyd Wright. The ceilings, family and gathering areas, rooms, etc. are all top-notch. Room amenities include excellent beds and pillows, leather TV remote container, heated bathroom floors, etc. This place has plenty of charm, functionality,...More

This is the most expensive place in town, and I'll probably not stay there again. But it was worth the cost of a three-day stay just for the experience of being in a historic restored hotel. The restaurant is pretty good and there's a cozy...More

This restoration was a labor of love that took many years to get off the ground and completed. If you have an interest in FLW or Prairie style architecture, this is a must see. Pick up the newspaper that details the process and people who...More

About
Description
The Historic Park Inn Hotel, together with City National Bank, of Mason City Iowa were designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright as a dual purpose building and completed in 1910. The design More greatly influenced architecture in Europe and is as striking today as it ever was. The Park Inn Hotel is the last Wright designed hotel in the world, and has undergone a nearly 20 million renovation; the restoration of the distinctive brick and terra-cotta façade as well as art glass windows has restored the Prairie School building to a functional hotel. The interior, while renovated into a contemporary hotel, has public areas and guest rooms restored as closely to Wright's design as possible. Art glass and much else designed by Wright remains. Public area furnishings are period-style and include reproduction Robie House Lights, reproductions of the Mercury statues Richard Bock and Wright designed for the bank, and reproductions of the barrel chairs Wright designed for the bank directors' room. We invite you to come and stay with us in the center of the many area attractions Mason City has to offer. Less

Did not have a room with a view. Loved it that we could use any of the public rooms. Played "Bananas" in the Ladies Drawing Room. A lovely stay.
