This was a very beautifully maintained hotel, with comfortable rooms. The rooms and the hotel in general were in great repair, and were clean. Pets are allowed in certain first-floor rooms, for no extra charge! We so appreciated this! The hotel also served a very basic breakfast, which satisfied all of our party. Had it not been enough, the hotel is surrounded by several restaurants which serve breakfast. The staff was friendly and efficient, providing a thorough, but quick, check-in. I would highly recommend this hotel! It is located very close to a major highway, so it is easy to get to.
Very mediocre, basic accommodation but Lea and James gave the place that special feel and made us feel at home! Great people make all the difference! We will definitely stay here again for the friendly atmosphere!
I will not stay here again. Something's wrong with the basic housekeeping checklists and processes at this hotel. First room I was given a key to had unmade bed - clearly not cleaned after prior guest checkout. Second room was better, if a bit dusty. Fresh towels were not left on 2nd day although used towels and bathmat were removed, In room coffee and paper cups were not replenished. Bedcovers were pulled up 2nd day, but bed was not fully made. There was no internet or TV service in room although lobby had both; front desk said a storm 2 days before had disrupted service in parts of the hotel and service company contacted. There was no coffee in the breakfast area - staff said coffee maker had stopped working days before and service company contacted. They brought in a standalone coffee maker the last day. Dubious food-safety practices -- Breakfast area counter was dirty from spills, biscuit gravy spoon left out/dirty for more than an hour, and a muffins container was positioned on top of the trash can. Questionable fire-safety -- the in-room electrical connections were daisy-chained together by a too-short extension cord, and bathroom electrical outlet 6 inches from sink did not seem to be a safety circuit-breaker type. Bed was comfortable, but sound from the loving couple in the room above carried through. Front staff were friendly and apologized for the poor conditions. But unable to resolve situations on their own. No refund or discount was offered. Owner contracting for premium-timing from service companies might be a good place to start. Plus adding staff to cross-check completion of room cleaning basics.
Equipment malfunction with the key card coder prevented us from getting into our room for a half hour. Not fun when it's the middle of the night, the room is on the 3rd floor at the end of the hall and there's no elevator.
This facility is not handicapped accessible (stairs, doors too heavy to open), staff needs more training in check-in, it is a building showing its age (over 40 years old). There were recliners in the room which was a great help and comfort. There were no instructions for the TV, which, if you are over 70 as we, you are not as up on the
