Friendly welcome, nicely decorated. Starters were excellent. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his first venison burger, and the risotto was very good. I'm very particular about my food, and their menu was very appetising, and not at all run of the mill. We didn't have room for dessert! We will definitely be going back. The meal was very reasonably priced, for...

Stayed here for one night (wished it had been more) recently with family. We were in the triple room. Two single beds and a put me up. Our son is tall for his age- about 5'9, and he had no bother sleeping in the smaller bed. Lovely en suite shower room. Clean and cosy. Breakfast in the morning fantastic. Staff...

Was so glad to see lights on a Monday afternoon and popped in for a post merrick pint, very warm welcome. Not just a restaurant, still a great country pub. Great place to eat but walkers and cyclists all still very welcome as they always were.

Popped in for lunch on 31st of October. Warmly greeted and barman very attentive. Great selection of food for lunch and the food was amazing. My wife ordered a prawn burger which came with a side of noodles as a starter. Very unique and welcomed! I had a steak burger which was very tasty and reasonably priced. My only gripe...

Myself and my partner, Sandra, had been meaning to visit this highly recommended restaurant for months but never got round to it. Eventually visited on a cold, wet Monday evening. It was very quiet, we were the only eating guests with a couple of locals I assume having a drink in the bar. This led to a kind of muted...

We have eaten here many times as visitors to the area but this time had heard mixed reviews about the food quality. I am so glad that we took a chance. We ate on a Tuesday evening meeting friends who live locally and what superb food we had. So what did we eat - the prawn burger (fanastic and very...

Having made advance booking for a family meal, I anticipated reasonable quality with slightly enhanced tariff. The menu looked good with variety and a children's option. Being charged £7.20 for two pints of lager shandy was not a promising start (even Edinburgh prices don't penalise customers for the purchase of a pint of lemonade). The 'yellow' Thai curry was awful...

Such a friendly welcome, comfortable room, delicious food and great location. Will definitely be back. Nothing was too much bother and the other guests clearly felt equally at home. Breakfast was freshly prepared and individual cafetieres provided lovely fresh coffee.

Passing through on route to New Galloway after been walking at Glentrool Country park. Ready for light meal ,so stopped at what we thought was a nice place. Staff seemed to be occupied so had a brief wait which was fine. The waitress spoke and we asked about the "catch of the day" on the menu that we picked up...
