We stayed at the Cassia suites. I don't have words for how pretty the place is. It's right on the river bank and offers amazing sunset views from the room. After sunset, we realised that there's a resident pod of hippos , less than 10 metres from the private bar sit out of our suite. And then there was a...

Our fourth visit to Chongwe and it continues to confirm our view that it is a magical place to spend a bush holiday. The staff are exceptional, always ensuring your comfort and safety, and going the extra mile to enhance your experience of life in the Lower Zambezi. The animals and birds lived up to expectations and our view of...

Chngwe River came highly recommended to me, and I pass that on to you! Everything was perfect, great service, lovely food, and fantastic water based activities! Our guide Sam made everything very enjoyable, was very knowledgeable, and we had lovely sightings. Birdlife, small game, and the ever present elephants visiting camp made it a wonderful, close up to nature experience!...

This is such a comfortable camp- I loved it so much. It was our last stop in Zambia and by then I was so ready to relax and be comfortable. This is the perfect place for that. The bed and bathroom were great, elephants visited our camp daily...so close I could've touched them (and a hippo one day), and I...

Truly a wonderful vacation. The camp is set on a beautiful stretch of the river. There are an abundance of hippos, elephants, birds, impala and baboons right outside your door. The staff is very welcoming and the guides are extremely knowledgeable. If that isn't enough the food is great also.

I visited two different camps in October this year; Kasak River Lodge by the lower Zambezi and one by south Luangwa. Kasak River Lodge has got it figured out and never misses a beat!! The people are amazing. Everyone introduces themselves to you and knows your name. They are extremely friendly, cohesive and unbelievably knowledgeable. The animal experience is amazing...

Three nights at Chongwe on the lower Zambezi following visits to three Norman Carr camps elsewhere in Zambia. Chongwe is bigger than any of those camps. It offers safari tours but is defined by its place on the river with each unit sitting on the shoreline. The team was excellent with a good range of activities. The surprise BBQ dinner...

We spent an incredible 4 nights at Chongwe where the resident elephants were a constant source of entertainment. The tents were secluded and extremely comfortable, and the brilliant staff were always there to help. There were always great opportunities to see a range of animals, with special thanks to Ben and Bob for their amazing guiding. We were made to...

We had 3 nights at Chongwe and every day there was something interesting going on in camp, either Elephants or Hippo-it really was the most active camp in a very positive way. The staff are wonderful, Flossie and her team really go out of their way to make your stay special. The camp accommodation is lovely, well separated chalets with...

We step on our Zambia & Malawi safari tour. Beautiful setting on the bench of the Zambesi river. Animals have priority... nightly hipos, elephants and occasionally lions pass by the tents. Friendly staff, excellent cuisine... what more do you want?
