This was the most peaceful, relaxing place. You are immersed in the Amish culture. The owners are very hospitable and pleasant. We loved it here! We will definitely return and bring friends. Thank you for a great get a way !! Food was good and people were very friendly.

Having stayed at the Big House before, we were expecting the same pleasant, top-notch stay. It is in a wonderful rural setting, with Amish farms all around, the sound of buggies and horses in the evening stillness, and really peaceful. We had talked with the previous owners several times, a great, personable, wonderful host and hostess, so we knew they... More

Out of 50 people that have stayed with us in the last 3 month since we started this business, we have had four reviews and unfortunately three out of four of them have been negative for reasons beyond our understanding. However, all of our other guests who have chosen not to write reviews have been happy and satisfied- that is... More

We returned here for another girls weekend after staying here several years ago....little did we know the ownership had changed. As we pulled in the change was immediately apparent. 1. Yard was unkept....needing mowed, flowers were dying and the weeds were thriving. 2. The owners were gone on vacation. They had a local amish woman (who was absolutely lovely)greet us... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in the harvest room. We had a wonderful time walking around Shipshewana and exploring the Amish community that surrounded this B&B. The bedroom we stayed in was decorated very nicely, the towels were nice and clean and the bed was very clean and comfortable. The innkeepers left us a gift basket... More

The original owners have sold the there are new, less experienced owners in place. Still a great location, but the quality of service and the food has dropped off considerably. We had to ask for towels and the room lacked furniture and decorations. The bland breakfast was served buffet style while the host was off doing errands. The new owners... More

I have stayed in "many" B&B's and have found this one the worse I have every stayed in! When I first arrived, no one came to the door and I did arrive between the normal check-in time. After calling two of the numbers I had, was told that someone was there and would be at the door shortly-which they did... More

We are the owners of this bed and breakfast and have to write a response to this review as we are incredibly surprised that someone would be so dissatisfied with their experience with us that they would actually take the time to sit down and write such as long and negative review. I believe it does say something to a... More

I went as a part of a group of 12 women who were getting away for a Shipshewana based retreat. We had a great time discovering a lot of interesting shops and places, but staying here was a highlight for sure. The breakfasts were unbeatable and had so many options to enjoy. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and welcoming.... More

Our group has stayed here for six years and it just gets better. Big rooms, clean and comfortable, and the food is excellent. A great place for a retreat. Close proximity to Sh ipshewana and Middlebury. In the heart of Amish country and shopping. Owners David and Gail will make you feel like a member of the family. A must... More

Probably the most home-like and hospitable stay were have ever experienced, and we have been to dozens of B &B's across the US. The location really was more of a home ( though the gracious owners said it as constructed as a B &B), and we had to remind ourselves that we were paying guests rather than visiting relatives-- that... A group of us stayed here during our annual girls' trip, which this year was to the Shipshewana area. We were delighted with our accomodations. Two of us stayed in The Suite in the main house, and the other four stayed in The Big House II (a few steps away on the same property). Both had kitchens and sitting areas... More
