Let me preface my review by saying that this was not my partner or I's first time at a hostel, although this was the most interesting yet. We arrived around 6PM and the check-in process took extremely too long, at least 15 minutes while we stood awkwardly in the doorway to the office. Upon completion of check in, we were...

We are very sorry to hear about your less than satisfactory experience! It seems as if you were here when we were having both computer issues and a misunderstanding of procedures with one of our interns. We hope you are able to come back and have a much better experience!

My daughter and I were in Indianapolis to visit Butler University, which is very close to the Indy Hostel. We found that the hostel met our needs perfectly. What with the expense of traveling to colleges (she is applying to dance departments and so must audition everywhere), I look for any and all ways to keep costs down, which is...

Having lived in Europe for several years it was like a step back into the EU to stumble into the welcoming arms of the helpful and friendly hosts of the Indy Hostel. Elizabeth (not Liz) was very helpful when I first called having found them on the financialfitnessinfo.com saver app. All the amenities you could ever need (laundry, wifi, shared...

i really enjoyed my stay here. if you can't handle sharing bathrooms (and i mean that you dont have your own bathroom in your room) then this isn't the place for you. there's a nice, large common area on the first floor and a full (i think) kitchen so you can bring some of your own food to make, as...

I came to Indy for a Thanksgiving reunion and chose IndyHostel for economic reasons. The next time I visit I'll stay there because I really believe it is the best place available. It reminded me, at different times, of a family gathering or a college dorm... Friendly people (both staff and visitors), great facilities, very clean and safe. I can't...

Enjoyed the easy access to Butler campus and downtown. Nice neighborhood with coffee and restaurant walkable! We turned in early 10pm because we had to leave early for airport departure. The evening was a loud with neighboring rooms (upstairs in main house) coming in much later, loud talking. Beds were minimalist ---need nicer mattress and better pillows to help the...

FYI--My review title is also a title of a Hemingway short story. And it is what I think of when I think of the Indy Hostel. The facilities are up to date but not without a eclectic charm. Staff are friendly, helpful, up front and casually in charge. I stayed for 5 weeks while teaching in the city. I liked...

Had a great time at the Indy Hostel recently. The staff are amazing, became my friends, and basically could'nt do enough for me to make me feel completely at home. The Indy Hostel I feel is a different kind of hostel, because you just feel like you are at a friend's house and not a hostel full of strangers. I...

Older house in the Broad Ripple area, near a bike path and popular hangout areas with large communal spaces inside. There were large, clean private bathrooms. WiFi was free and reliable and there free community computers also available. I elected to camp in the back area of the hostel to save a few dollars. The yard had a large deck...
