Stayed here for a wedding. Scenery was grest, room was clean and cozy. The outdoor seating area for the restaurant was a great over look of the area, but lots of bees. Staff was friendly and helpful as well. Tons of fun.

This lodge is ideal for a getaway from Chicago. It takes only 2 hours of driving. The area is beautiful any time of the year, rooms are clean and comfortable, front desk service great and the price is reasonable. 2nd floor seems to be quieter.

Was just there last week, forgot to review. Had a conference. Meals were good, and after hours bar was nice. Be careful if you are going after dark, as the road to the lodge is very narrow and winding. Few local stores just before you get to lodge. Excellent room with Bay window(special room and spacious).

My husband and I went there for two days last week. The staff there was very courteous and friendly. The trails are beautiful. The restaurants had very tasty food. A pleasant and relaxing place to go to enjoy the beauty of the fall.

My wife and I with two friends took an overnight mid-week visit to Starved Rock State Park to see the beautiful fall colors. We enjoyed our stay at the Starved Rock Lodge and Conference Center. The room for my wife and I was very clean and comfortable. The wi-fi was excellent; and dinner was very good. 0ur friends were as... More

The room in the lodge was in the older wing but it was very clean and quiet. As other posters have noted, the bathroom is very small but it wasn't an inconvenience at all. The lodge is very well maintained and we enjoyed being able to stay right in the heart of the park. Highly recommend grabbing a bite to... More

My husband and I took a mid-week vacation to celebrate our anniversary. We rented a a sunset cabin with a package deal. The cabin was nice, but you can hear the neighbors in the other 3 adjoining cabins, but not a big deal for us. We only slept as most of the day we were hiking around Starved Rock. The... More

We stayed one night on our way home from a family reunion in Wisconsin. Other reviews had mentioned how tiny the Lodge rooms are; they really don't do the tiny-ness of the rooms justice. The entire bathroom would probably fit into the shower of the resort we stayed at in Lake Geneva; the shower of the Starved Rock Lodge bathroom... More

I always liked the western states lodge style (lots of wood, fireplaces, rustic look) but didn't think that there was something similar here. Well about 70 miles from Chicago is Starved Rock State park and lodge. The lodge is a little bit like stepping back in time and heading far out west. The rooms are a bit dated but still... More

This place is beautiful! The lodge has a huge fireplace, old natural woodwork, charm. The thing I didn't care for was the bathroom in the rooms, small with no vent fan, but typical of hotel rooms from the 1930s. The shades didn't close well to keep out the light and privacy. BUT, look past that and WOW! We loved the... More

Thanks so much for your comments and we're glad you enjoyed your visit to Starved Rock. Yes the bathrooms in the Lodge wing are a bit small but unfortunately as those rooms are on the National Register of Historic Places we are unable to change the size. We do have air vents in the bathrooms, but they are not individualized... More
