We stayed at the Cookoo Brow Inn on a \living social deal vouchure for 2 days Wednesday and Thursday of last week (18th and 19th March). We love the lakes and often visit perhaps 3 times a year. We have stayed at the Queens Head in Troutbeck a few times but our visit to Cookoo Brow was far superior. The...

Really fantastic review, thank you. It is very kind of you to mention our staff by name, they all check TripAdvisor so to see their name given an extra special mention is just great. I am thrilled that you enjoyed staying with us, and I hope that you will become regular guests on your trips to the Lakes.

We arrived dripping on a cold wet Wednesday a good two hours early than we should. Not a problem, after checking our room was ready we were shown straight up to our room. Lovely room, fabulous bath, fabulous brownie. We were advised if eating in the evening to book as they can get busy, so we did. The food was...

What an excellent, amazing place to stay. Staff were friendly and polite, smartly dressed and very accommodating. The hotel was clean and very comfy. Cosy fireplaces and log burners keeping the place warm. Very characteristic building surrounded by countryside. I stayed with my husband in the hotel for 2 nights and thought is was amazing. Felt relaxed, refreshed and didn't...

This does make a rather depressing and disappointing read. I can only apologise that we were not up to our usual 5 star standard. Of course, I agree entirely that there should be a break between courses, this is a lesson we have already learned but it seems on this occasion we have slipped up. I am also sorry that...

Stayed two nights and found it very comfortable and cosy. Staff were extremely friendly and approachable. Definitely a place I would stay again, and recommend to all. If you do eat in, do try the spicy sweet potatoes which include the dips and try the freshly made chips.

Our son and daughter in law gave us a voucher to stay here as a Christmas present. It's the best gift we got this Christmas. Room - very comfortable and clean, lovely en-suite. It's obviously been refurbished by people with real taste. The whole hotel has been decorated with a nod to its history. Food from Adam the chef is...

This is a really special review, not only because we have been given the honour of being your best Christmas present, but that you have given Adam and Aiden special mentions. I cant tell you how fantastic it makes all the staff feel when they get a personal mention. We hope that you will choose to stay with us again...

We stayed in room 9 fabulous bath. Really lovely hotel and friendly staff. The steak and cheese pie is 'to die for' as was the steak. Best living social deal yet. Will definitely be back. Although we don't have a dog - they are very welcome here.

Great! I am thrilled that you enjoyed your Living Social Offer, it is great that you mention this on TripAdvisor as I know some people are tentative in booking hotels on these voucher sites, but I hope you agree there are some fantastic deals out there. We usually run deals in the quieter colder months so I hope that you...

We have been visiting this hotel since 1982 but this was our first visit since the refurbishment. The hotel had been tastefully renovated without ripping out the heart of the old hotel which we lived but realised was in need of a makeover. The food was excellent as were the beers and wines. Our king sized bed was very comfortable,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of the quiet village of the Far Sawrey, just a 3/4 mile pleasant stroll to the National Trust home of Beatrix Potter, our Lake District Inn welcomes you to come and sit by the fire. Situated at the top of the hill in between Lake Windermere and Hawkshead Village, surrounded by beautiful scenery, popular walking and cycling trails and of course the countryside which Beatrix Potter drew her inspiration from. We are a classic, yet contemporary Lake District Bed & Breakfast, which has recently been renovated and lovingly restored to its former glory. We now have 14 beautiful en-suite bedrooms, which are a selection of superking size, family and twin rooms, all rooms have power showers, 32" flat screen TVs, tea and coffee facilities and everything you would want from Lake District B&B. We are passionate about the Lakes, and strive to produce a local, sourcing as much produce as possible from the from the bountiful area in which we sit, be that the Real Ales, the game for our Huntsmans Hot Pot or the sausages for our Cumbrian Breakfast which of course no true Lake District B&B would be without. We would like to welcome all to our little Inn, which offers dog friendly accommodation for those wishing to bring their dog away for a holiday in the Lakes. Whether you are popping in for a pint or coming to stay in the Lake District Bed & Breakfast, our doors are open and our fires are on. Food is served all day, 12 noon to 3pm, 5pm until 9pm. ... more   less
