We stayed in Room 1 over the Easter bank holiday weekend. Nice big room and a fabulous huge bathroom with a roll top bath. Maintained daily to a very good standard. The lady on reception was very nice and attentive. We had dinner here on two nights. The staff are very hard working. One of the waiters seemed to be...

An excellent find in a great location. We all loved the Cuckoo Brow Inn and will definitely be making a return visit. Our family room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The menu choices for breakfast and dinner met everyone's taste and the food was delicious.

It an excellent Inn with Rooms, great food & they love dogs!! Comfortable rooms and good menu choices with a daily specials board. All ingredients are locally sourced, The staff are happy, friendly and really helpful. There is parking on site. Location is peaceful and quiet but very close to the ferry across to Windermere.

Just returned from another great stay at the Cuckoo Brow Inn. Great service as always, room was good, food was good, pity weather wasn't better. It was incredibly busy throughout our stay, but at no time was the service bad. Only issue was staff talking loudly under our window at night, but once mentioned was dealt with immediately. Our dog...

We ate as a family of 10 and can recommend this lovely pub for a delicious evening meal. All our meals were tasty - my vegetarian option of the twice baked soufflé was very tasty. The pub had a lovely atmosphere and the service was great.

This hotel is fantastic. There was six of us and a 2 year old, and the staff were so helpful and accommodating. There were loads of dogs there and they were all very well behaved. The rooms were really clean and the food was great (especially the eggy brioche with bacon and maple syrup). We walked around the local area...

Having previously dined here last Summer, we decided to book a few nights away. So glad we did as we had a perfect break. We booked 2 nights dbb, room and bathroom were comfortable, very clean and modern. Breakfast and dinner were good, staff were friendly and its in a perfect spot. Would book again as it's such good value.

This hotel is excellent. We stayed for 3 nights and the place was very comfortable and accommodating. The staff are very friendly and they go out their way to make you feel welcome. We went to the Lakes to do some walking and this was a nice quiet place to stay. A great place to get away from the rat...

We have just returned from a two night break at the cuckoo brow inn. The hotel is in a lovely quiet location in peaceful surroundings in the village of far sawrey which is about a ten minute drive from the hawkshead ferry landing across Windermere. We booked this hotel after reading reviews about it being dog friendly as we have...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of the quiet village of the Far Sawrey, just a 3/4 mile pleasant stroll to the National Trust home of Beatrix Potter, our Lake District Inn welcomes you to come and sit by the fire. Situated at the top of the hill in between Lake Windermere and Hawkshead Village, surrounded by beautiful scenery, popular walking and cycling trails and of course the countryside which Beatrix Potter drew her inspiration from. We are a classic, yet contemporary Lake District Bed & Breakfast, which has recently been renovated and lovingly restored to its former glory. We now have 14 beautiful en-suite bedrooms, which are a selection of superking size, family and twin rooms, all rooms have power showers, 32" flat screen TVs, tea and coffee facilities and everything you would want from Lake District B&B. We are passionate about the Lakes, and strive to produce a local, sourcing as much produce as possible from the from the bountiful area in which we sit, be that the Real Ales, the game for our Huntsmans Hot Pot or the sausages for our Cumbrian Breakfast which of course no true Lake District B&B would be without. We would like to welcome all to our little Inn, which offers dog friendly accommodation for those wishing to bring their dog away for a holiday in the Lakes. Whether you are popping in for a pint or coming to stay in the Lake District Bed & Breakfast, our doors are open and our fires are on. Food is served all day, 12 noon to 3pm, 5pm until 9pm. ... more   less
