My husband and I stayed at the Flamingo Bay Water Lodge from 25 April to 30 April 2012 for our honeymoon. This was a gift from his (our) parents so we had no idea of what to expect. People (including myself) complain very easily, however I’m a firm believer that excellent service and staff willing to go the extra mile...

We have some amazing staff members under our employ who take great pride in Flamingo Bay having literally built it up from the ground. So not only did you get a surprise honeymoon from your family but we managed to exceed your expectations as well. I am thrilled to hear this, and we truly hope that you will be back...

Flamingo Bay was everything the pictures on the web promised. Our water cottage was absolutely beautiful and very spacious. And being surrounded by water is incredibly tranquil. Try go close to full moon, that's when the water level is most impressive. The food is also excellent - loved the 4 course dinners. There are lots of activities you can book...

Fabulous spot. TAKE INSECT SPRAY not only for mosquitoes but for horrible midges that inflict nasty bites around the pool. Ask for chalet 20 (I think) its the last one on the right hand side FACING the sea so a) you get panoramic views, b) you don't hear the golf carts as much and c) you get more privacy being...

We went to Flamingo Bay as a last-minute decision due to great specials through Mozambique Travel - we got a great deal and the trip really exceeded our expectations - especially after reading some negative reviews on tripadvisor. The transfer was fairly smooth, considering that you are driving around on sandy roads, and our reception at the lodge was very...

As Flamingo Bay Water Lodge is part of a well known group, we always try and exceed all expectations. Being surrounded by Mother Nature, we are also focused on the sustainability of the natural environment in which we find ourselves. As feedback from guests is the only way we can uplift our service accordingly, we always take these aspects and...

We booked Flamingo Bay through Imagine africa and as a honeymoon couple, we had a great stay. I'd describe the place as a rustic Maldives style resort. It isn't 5 star luxury but for the cost, it is very comfortable and the huts have a lot of character. The resort is based in a lagoon which experiences large tides but...

The hotel location and buildings are lovely - very comfortable, clean cabins, on stilts over a sandbank on the edge of the bay, approached via walkways over the a mangrove swamp. There are magnificient African coastal views and sunrises/sunsets. But the food left something to be desired - lamb so gamey I thought it might be goat, stale cornfalkes, fruit...

Flamingo Bay was the first half of our honeymoon in Mozambique. With myself being from New Zealand and my wife from Cape Town, i was trying to find somewhere reasonably close to South Africa where we could enjoy an over-water bungalow type accommodation. I knew with the rooms being on an estuary that the water wasn't going to be the...

When planning a beach getaway, I searched all the usual places: Mauritius, Comoros, Madagascar, Thailand and Zanzibar. What I found was a gem much closer to home - Mozambique! When you arrive in Mozambique, you could mistake it for any other beach destination in the world. The people are friendly and welcoming. The weather is humid and sticky, the sea...

We came to Flamingo on our honeymoon and we were not disappointed with the beauty of the place.. just like the pictures and better. We stayed in chalet 120, I would say this is the best spot. you are at the end, and facing the fabulous sunsets. our chalet was always kept very clean and stocked with amenities. The staff...
