An affordable yet amazing accommodation right on the beach. The room is self catering and fully equipped to your basic needs, but since the lodge is steps away from the amazing restaurant Green Turtle, do stop by and try the octopus thai curry !!!! Will definitely return to Bay View, Couldnt have asked for better !!!

We stayed at Bayview for 12 days in August. We were in number 5 which is 30meters to the beach with a nice garden. All the units are very close to the beach. The units are a little old but clean and more than adequate. The domestic staff come every day to keep the unit clean and were all very... More

Bayview lodge is by far the best and most reasonable place to stay in Barra. Its protected from the weather, but yet right on the beach. the host and hostess shows fantastic service and hospitality. The cottages are spacious and comfortable and have 24 hour security. Visit your dream house on the beach!!

The basic, but clean accommodation is a few steps from one of Mozambique's beautiful beaches and 10 minutes drive from Tofu Beach. Spend some time on the beaches conversing with the friendly local traders - selling handmade souvenirs. Most of the self-serving accommodations have a sea view. You can spend your time enjoying the beach or marvel in the African... More

If you were closer to the beach you would be ON the beach! The self catering accommodation is simple but comfortable and importantly has air conditioning in all the bedrooms. Sharon who manages the lodge is a star and will go out of her way to make sure her guests are happy, even loaning you some of her husband's beer... More

We were headed for an other lodge but arrived when there was a music festival in the area. Most of the lodges were full so we ended up at Barra View Lodge. It turned out to be a very good place to stay. We got a whole house to ourselves about a hundred metres from the beach. The house was... More

We spent our honeymoon (Aug '15) at Bayview, what an amazing experience! Right from the start Catharina was so helpful and friendly, Sharon and Gideon were incredible, always willing to go out of their way to ensure we had a good holiday, and the guards and cleaners were always smiling and friendly. Our unit was 70 steps (we counted) from... More

Sharon and Gideon provided us with superb service, accommodation and facilities. The beach was honestly 100m from our door which made the only morning traffic a beetle building his home. One of the best swimming beaches i have encountered with many restaurants available for lazy days relaxing and tanning. Neptunes, a beach bar was also amazing if you are looking... More

Dear Ana Patricia Thank you for posting a review and apology for the problem with the oven. The house to the right of our reception is where one of the owners of Bayview Lodge stay - permanently. We had cause to spend a few days in Inhambane in October 2014 after a glorious trip further north, and chose Bayview Lodge at Barra Beach to stay. Expecting it to be a let down after our stay at Pomene Lodge, it was a real highlight. The secret weapon was the absolutely fabulous restaurant there - called the Green Turtle... More
