A rare gem for lovers of the countryside - horses, cats, chickens, honey bees, organic food and warm hospitality. Me, my wife and 8 year old daughter enjoyed the most amazing week at Cal Perello. Our daughter rode every day under the careful and patient tutelage of David our host. David also proved to be an accomplished cook, serving us...

I cannot rate this place highly enough. .. David (owner/host), made us feel incredibly welcome and served us delicious meals from his organic farm. He was a wealth of knowledge and very friendly. This is the best place I have ever gone horse riding, in a trail riding format. We got a real horse riding experience - unlike many places...

We recently spent a day at Cal Perello. We had a beginners horse back riding lesson which was terrific. David was an excellent instructor and we were very relaxed and learned a great deal about horses. I enjoyed it immensely. The trip back at sunset on horseback was awesome. We chose half board and our meal was incredible- all fresh...

Aside from horse riding, which was incredible and educational as always (David is a fantastic instructor), we got a lunch which consisted of pasta with various mushrooms they picked that very morning while we were driving here, then for dinner, an entire meal of ingredients from their garden - salad, all vegetables hand picked, olive oil they made on their...

I took my girlfriend (a keen horserider) to Cal Perello for her Birthday. I recently moved to Barcelona and was keen to do a bit of exploring of the more untouched areas of Catalunya. This is a great place to start. Situated in a very quaint hamlet is David's charming and beautiful old house. I saw a very negative review...

We visited Cal Perello for a weekend away while my partner and I were working in Barcelona for the winter. We drove from Barcelona on mostly motorway, although the end of the trip took us onto narrower country lanes and yes we did get a little lost and arrived as the sun was going down. Cal Perello is situated in...

A friend and I wanted to get away for a couple of nights and chose cal Perrello. It was the best. David and his horse were factastic. The ride was well suited to our level, the food (both breakfast and dinner) excellent, and the location just stunning. Thank you David for a very enjoyable time.

I was there last weekend with a friend and her baby. The rooms are expensive for what they offer ( I paid 60 euro/night including breakfast), in the one I stayed, there were things hanging on the bed and no way to keep the place dark in the early morning. Smelling of ... most of the time. There were lots...

Although I've lived in Barcelona for more than 5 years, this was my first trip into Lleida and I loved it. Cal Perello is in a tiny town of about 15 people. No coffee shops, convenient stores or nightlife. Just you, David, the horses and perhaps a few goats. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway then this is an...

We originally booked this place because my boyfriend's mom wanted to go for a ride (she takes regular lessons) but unfortunately Aine injured her back just before the trip and we had to cancel the ride. But even so, we (just my boyfriend and I) really enjoyed our stay. The house is rather quirky in its design (it's very old)...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Cal Perelló is a renaissance Manor house built in 1530, situated in the tranquil village of Ametlla de Segarra, in central Catalonia, only 100 kms from Barcelona. In 2007 Cal Perelló opened as a small country retreat with just three bedrooms, devoted to people with an interest in horses and riding. As well as enjoying your stay in this atmospheric house, you will have time to build a relationship with the horses allocated to you. We pride ourselves on giving guests time to get to know their horses, learning and enjoying how to communicate with them.We organize half and full day guided ridings for two people as well as longer travels (up to 5 days) for visiting the medieval towns, castles and monasteries around us.Thanks to our family connection with Comalats wineries, we also offer guided tours of the vineyards and wine tasting excursions. ... more   less
