We stayed in the motel section of the Carleton. The location was convenient to everything in Oak Park as well as the train to go into downtown Chicago. The room was large, clean and comfortable and had a refrigerator, microwave and a table for eating breakfast. A good choice if you want to explore Oak Park.

What a charming cozy place to stay in Chicago. It has the ambiance of the early 20th century, but all the amenities a 21st century traveler could want. Only four floors , with cozy rooms, good food & an excellent location. Especially if you are hoping to visit the Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in the neighborhood! An inside restaurant, a...

This is a older hotel in a great location for walking tours of the Frank Lloyd Wright historic district. The in house bar/restaurant had good food and a huge beer list. I'm looking forward to staying there again.

Best hotel in the area if you don't want to stay in downtown Chicago. Gets stars due to proximity to downtown Oak Park, good restaurants, public transportation and the fact there is no other real competition. Loses stars because it is relatively expensive given the quality of the facilities, lack of amenities and services. Again, due to lack of real...

Its an older hotel. It has character. The room was clean but very warm despite the AC. We had a "premium" room with 2 beds. No vending machines or even ice & water that we could find. I know this is sort of Chicago's outskirts but price is a bit high and beware of the NO ($00!!) refund on advance...

Older Hotel that is well maintained. If yo are looking for "Chrome and Glass" decor this is nit the place. Rich dark wood panels and architecture are here. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Rooms are not massive, but well appointed and very clean. Meals and Drinks are a few steps from the lobby. Enjoyed it.

Another trip to The Carleton of Oak Park. Feels like going home to visit The Carleton yet again. My home from home in Oak Park, Chicago. This old established family run hotel has a very welcoming feel. I met the owner this time who couldn't do enough to make my trip as comfortable as possible. Purpose of my visit was...

Nice old fashioned hotel within walking distance of shops and restaurants in Oak Park. Hotel Parking was free and staff very helpful. Room rates seemed reasonable for the area. Hotel has a restaurant and a pub, but felt restaurant prices were high and the local restaurant selection is just plain AWESOME!!

Wonderful Hotel built in 1928. Our room was a single Queen, a bit on the small side but excellent in every other way. The bed was very comfortable. A bit on the hard side which is the way I like it. My wife really liked the pillows. There was only one chair and desk available, but the room also had a...

Our overnight accommodation in the main Carleton Hotel, not the motel, was as promised: 2 double beds in a large room. We did not find a thermostat, but we were able to turn off the heat and we opened one window to cool room down. Shower was nice. No breakfast available except in Poor Phil's, an attached restaurant/bar. Parking is...
