He had raved about the quality of the food and the friendliness of the owners and staff and wanted me to experience this for myself. I must say I was not disappointed as the food was first class...

Nice little pub perfect for an overnight stop on the way to Scotland. Wasn't really a proper B&B, more a pub with a couple of rooms. Views very nice. Very friendly landlord and locals. We stayed on quiz night, which was an eye opener. (where did all the people come from?) Food was very good and homely, but I thought...

We found The Gun Inn purely by accident on a long journey from Southend to Scotland. It was certainly a very happy accident. We received a very friendly northern welcome and when asking if a room was available for the night Liz soon had us sorted out and into a very clean and well decorated room which had its own...

Thank you so much. btw the steak ale and mushroom pudding was gorgeous. The scampi was lovely too. The locals were friendly. AND it was just about the best pint of John...

A group of 5 cyclist stayed at the gun inn whilst completing the Sandstone Way. The rooms were functional with a welcoming bed and shower at the end of a long day and all the staff were more than accommodating, ensuring we were well fed and that our bags made it to our next destination. Great value and thanks to...

We stopped by here a rainy Sunday afternoon on the way from Durham to Scotland. Completely taken at random ("This place looks nice"), we couldn't have been more charmed by the location, the food and the service. Had a lovely Sunday roast dinner and the meats were succulent and vegetables nicely done. The service was welcoming and the decor in...

My wife and I had lunch at the Gun Inn on August 2nd after visiting Housesteads Roman Fort on Hadrian's Wall. We were on our way to Scotland and The Inn was conveniently on the A68. The bartender/waiter was very friendly and immediately took our order. The food was delivered promptly, I had lasagna and my wife had a burger....
