BACKROUND: I had previously stayed here with my parents in 2004 and had slept in the upstairs room. It was a pretty good experience as far as I can remember, which is why I decided to book it this time with my husband and kids. NOW: We just arrived home from a trip to Nauvoo to visit family. I booked... More

We stayed at the White House Inn in October, 2015. We stayed in the Young room, on the bottom floor. It was a great experience and location and we would probably stay here again, however, the house has its pros and cons. Pros: Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen is a large room, even... More

This is an old house that has been nicely remodeled into an inn. It does have an old house smell to it but the room was nice. We stayed in the Browning Room with 4 queen beds. Plenty of room for 3 adults and 5 kids. The bathroom is a little on the small side and the sink is free... More

We stayed with a group of 6 and had a wonderful experience. The staff was welcoming and helpful. All email inquiries were answered quickly. We stayed there on a friends recommendation that had stayed at the White House Inn 3 times and loved it. We will also return when we visit Nauvoo again. We had two soft beds and two... More

We love the White House Inn. It is beautifully decorated, and so comfortable. A terrific place to rest or use as a base for touristing. The people are so very friendly. We have stayed here twice, and will return every time we are near. Even in mid-August the A/C keeps the house comfortable. We were very lucky to get a... More

For a family of 8, this was the best place to stay economically and location wise. It is an old house and we've remodeled an old home so we understand how difficult it is to modernize an old house in small spaces. We went in Mid May and the crowds were minimal, temperatures were perfect and the home was to... More

Hi. We stayed at the Inn for 2 weeks. It was super cute and clean and well-maintained on a daily basis. The AC was adequate during the hottest part of the summer. The staff was friendly and professional. We loved having access to the shared kitchen. It worked out so well. The pancake mix and fresh cookies were a great... More

We spent 2 weeks in Nauvoo in July. We researched this hotel on the web before booking it and knew what is was and was not. Our criteria were a quiet, clean, affordable place with kitchen facilities at our disposal. We found exactly what we were looking for and expecting. While there was no on-site manager the management was right... More

I'm not sure what happened with the experience that the reviewer from Northern CA had. But we had a great experience! Okay, so there was no host to greet us, but we didn't expect that and it was fine. The key was left for us in the mailbox as was explained to us, along with a note with our room... More

We were anticipating our stay at the White House Inn and looking forward to a B&B experience of hospitality and charm, we were completely disappointed. We were told to collect our room key from the bakery across the street if we arrived in town before 4:00 pm, which we did. We opened the front door to the Inn and were... More

“Rooms were quiet because Nauvoo is a quiet town. I loved the many windows in our room (lace curtains and blinds), but I was glad I had eye covers to sleep with because the street lights kept the room pretty light during the night.”

“Rooms were well kept and clean. Yes it is a house converted to a hotel. There was plenty of airconditioning for the hot muggy midwest summe.”
