I am not sure how this hotel has a 4.5. We stayed over the holidays and reserved several rooms as a family group. I arrived a night early and was pretty disappointed in how run-down everything looked. Cute motif but it has all seen better days. The furniture in the lobby and guest rooms is worn and dirty. The staff was difficult to find and not very engaged or helpful in resolving issues. You also have to stay at least three night to have any sort of housekeeping. This hotel has seen better days.

We were ther in 2021. Zero Covid precautions, no one is masked, hordes of unvaccinated kids running around all over the hotel. Breakfast was an unmasked rowdy mess of kids picking all over the food, can't use the pool area which was heaving with people, families spent all night sitting, running, jumping in the hallways and talking, yelling loudly through the night, followed by parents bringing chairs into the hallway in the morning braiding hair and yelling. Kids obviously were told by staff that we had complained as several of the kids banged repeatedly on our door. Staff were pleasant enough but totally unable or unwilling to do much about the noise and general level of crazy by the guests. Room phone was reported as not working but not fixed.

Short version of this review - it was so loud the night that we stayed, we packed up our things and drove home at 12:30am. This place definitely caters to families with young kids or people who want to stay up partying all night. DO NOT stay here if you want a restful, relaxing stay in a hotel. We stayed here the Friday after Thanksgiving while visiting family in the area. I chose this hotel for my daughter because it looked cute and had a heated indoor pool. The lobby is cute and rustic, and they had pretty Christmas decorations up. Our room was pretty big, but the beds were not comfortable at all and the beds that were supposed to be a Queen size are definitely just a Full size. We had one half roll of toilet paper when we checked in and no wash cloths, so I had to get those from the front desk. We also had no toilet paper holder in our bathroom. It had broken off the wall. They had a cute pool area, but it was kind of small and it was overcrowded with kids screaming. We were back in our room by 9pm, and there were kids running up and down the hallway screaming and slamming doors from 9pm-midnight. At one point I called the front desk and they said that 10pm was quiet hours so they would come up and check it out, but the running up and down the hallways and slamming doors continued until midnight. The walls are paper thin so all we heard was pounding in our hallway and pounding overhead for about 2 solid hours as we tried to fall asleep. Then our heat wouldn't work right, and it was so hot in our room that the only thing that would fix it was to blast the A/C at 60 degrees, which made it freezing in our room. After 2 hours of trying to go to sleep with no luck, and the noise of the people in the hallway waking up my young daughter, my husband got really mad and we packed up our things and drove two hours home so we could get some sleep. Totally ruined our family trip and would NEVER stay here again and would NEVER recommend this hotel. There were also some very "interesting" people just hanging out in the hallway near our room for a good portion of the night. Just walking around barefoot, acting strange, overheard one guy say to his friend, "I need to stay here and do my business." Freaked me out and made me uncomfortable.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel and cleanliness needs a lot of work. The room still had trash on the floor from the previous tenants, there was hair and a leaf under the sheets of our “clean” bed. The sink stopper was broken so the sink filled when washing hands. At breakfast they needed more staff tending to making sure things were stocked. The juice machine was broken and had to wait 15 min for the one gal to refill the juice pitchers. There was no cream cheese for the bagels. Bagels tasted old and crumbled when ate. The carpet in the elevator is moldy. The hot tub was closed the entire time, but also so saw a police officer come check it out so not sure if there was an incident or if it was broken. For the amount of money we paid we were not pleased with our stay. Invest in your property and staffing to better serve your guests.

This is a nice place within walking distance to great places to eat and if you like to take a walk you are right next to the Mississippi River Walk. The room are nice and very clean. The Bathroom is a little small and short short on counter space. The bed was comfortable as my wife and I slept well. The Breakfast was like you would get at a Super 8 not very good. If I stayed here again I would have breakfast some where else. There is a place called Meli's a few blocks away that has great breakfast and Lunch. All being said I would stay here again just for the location. They do have a indoor/outdoor swimming pool and Lounge which we did not use. There is an elevator

My wife and i chose this as a nice QUIET getaway for the night. FORGET IT!!! the band playing LOUDLY bad renditions of sweet caroline and cheap trick.. was so loud we couldn't even hear the tv in our room!! And kids running the halls. When i called the front desk to ask when the music would stop I immediately got a desk clerk that was argumentative and started saying well we cant control parents watching their kids. True but you could think about your guest who don't wish to have a rock band in their room. Poor poor thought out design of hotel to allow that to blare in peoples rooms. As much as rooms are its Ridiculous. The hotel was nice, room was mediocre but johnny loud guitar and the people yelling and screaming needed to go.. so much for a quiet relaxing night, Thanks Stoney Creek we will not be back!

We chose this hotel for the indoor/outdoor pool. We got checked in (right at 3pm) and headed straight for it, only to find what looked like the exploded remains of a diaper. We immediately politely asked for a refund (which was eventually granted). My wife asked to speak to the manager, who hid in the office for more than thirty minutes making the receptionist the go-between. Room wasn't much cleaner than the pool. This chain used to be nice, but has clearly run its course. Stay anywhere else.

A very “wooden” structured hotel, and with added nature features. The lobby speaks for it self with a canoe on the wall and both a stuffed bear and a stuffed moose/elk in natural size. The thematic wooden signature is also part of the rooms with wooden fan and that all chairs seems to be made of wood. All in all, the hotel is a bit dented.

Loved this hotel, nice sized rooms, grandson was excited to have his own Queen sized bed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Within walking distance to many points of interest. We enjoyed the pool but it could have been better if the leaves were cleaned out of it. Breakfast was included and there was plenty of food to choose from.

Had a horrible experience here. I come in town once every two years and my sisters and I rent a hotel room to have a few drinks, some giggles and reminisce. Well, when we get to the room,we find a weird chunk of hair and hair tie (I think) was dangling from the bathroom ceiling above the toilet. I took a picture of it and went down and showed the 2nd/3rd shift front desk workers (2 young ladies). I asked if maintenance could come take care of it. I'm told there's no maintenance in the building. So, I ask for a manager. No manager until Monday (it's Friday). Okay. I ask for a new room. Absolutely no rooms available because they are booked solid. Of course. So I said, "Well, I'm not touching it!". One of the ladies wrinkles her nose and says "I ain't touching it!". The other lady is a bit more professional, but says "Well, we're not allowed to do that" and "we're not supposed to" and a couple other things along those lines. So I ask what we're all going to do about it. The more professional of the two said "I can give you a pair of gloves.". Fan-frickin-tastic. Well,I'm not leaving it on the ceiling and all the other hotels in the area are booked too,so I glove up, grab some tissues and take care of it myself. But, boy did it ruin our good time!!
