We have been to the inn 5 years in a row now and absolutely LOVE it. We have stayed in the lodge and in both the West End Cottage and the Indigo Cottage. We love the privacy and the feeling of getting away from everything and getting lost in the woods (we don't even get a cell signal...truly getting away)....

We were lucky enough to be invited by some friends who have regularly visited the Makanda Inn over the past few years. It is an excellent location, excellent accommodations, and best of all the service and food couldn't have been better. We are now looking to make plans to visit at other times of the year. Heather was outstanding as...

Absolutely perfect. We went there for my birthday and to go on the wine trail. We spent two nights at the cottage and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at the Inn. We also did some hiking. It was a wonderful get away.

My husband and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary with a trip to the Shawnee Wine Trail in southern Illinois. We spent two nights at the Makanda Inn which we really enjoyed. Heather was a great hostess and the breakfasts she prepared the two days we were there were outstanding! We stayed in the Inn and our room was very...

Wonderful place to stay near Carbondale in the wine country. After dropping off a student at SIUC, my wife and I stayed here, near the Shawnee National Forest and Shawnee Wine Trail. Great scenery on the nearby trails and good entertainment at the nearby winery made this place very attractive. Breakfast was good and the service was polite.

Very interesting place with interesting decor and design. We stayed in a cabin/ duplex that was designed well with interesting wood furniture custom built by local craftsmen. A quiet place well off the beaten path. Cell phone and wifi were subpar but this area has same problem region wide. Even in Carbondale wifi is very low bandwidth at best. Well...
