Lost on a maze of farm roads and marooned in a time long past, Maeystown itself is a most wonderful time capsule populated by people who treasure the towns rich history. The inn was selected as I was looking for unique lodging options to write about, and we needed a quiet break after an intense week of presentations, meetings and...

Spent a night here with some friends. The inn is a real time trip, back to an era of fine china, beautiful furniture and real hospitality. Everything is beautifully preserved and presented. The rooms are comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast in the old ballroom is a wonderful experience with great food and great stories. Perhaps a little recital on the pump...

This hidden gem is in a lovely, little town, surrounded by rolling hills of deciduous trees and verdant fields. We stayed in the loft suite, which was impeccably clean and well appointed. Despite a heat wave, the loft remained cool and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding--balanced, filling and delicious. There is so much in the area to explore and savor,...

We stayed in the Loft Suite that was very clean and beautifully decorated. The Inn Keepers are very friendly and knowledgeable about the towns history. The breakfast was very well prepared. We will definitely be back to stay again.

We just spent a wonderful weekend getaway for St. Valentines day at the Corner George Inn. We stayed in the Dave and Mayme's room. It has 4 rooms including a living room, kitchen, large bathroom with a whirlpool claw foot tub and a warm comfortable Queen size bed. It is in a Civil War stone house across the street from...

My husband and I stayed in Dave and Mayme's suite. Beautiful town especially if you are trying to escape the hustle and bustle for a short time. The husband and wife innkeepers were very welcoming and had such vast knowledge of the rich history of the town. Lovely stay, good breakfast, and beautiful silence. We will be back =)

We arrived, owners were not there. Woman in store, which is part of the same building as the inn got a young girl to check us in. Owner arrived, answered some questions and told us he had to be somewhere else for the night. Owners did not live in building. We were the only guests. When asked about restaurants (it was...

My wife and I just recently stayed at the Corner George Inn and had a fantastic time! The owners are very personable and accommodating. We talked to them for hours and they even went out of their way to help me with some research for my thesis. I really appreciate how welcoming and inviting the couple were. David also provided...

We travel a lot and have stayed in many different types of places, but we've never stayed in a place that felt quite so perfect. Not only is the inn wonderfully warm and comfortable, the owners delightfully friendly and helpful, but everyone we met in the village made us feel like a neighbor and friend. We stayed in Dave and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located just 35 miles south of St. Louis, the inn was originally built as a hotel and saloon in 1884 by George Jacob and Sibilla Hoffmann. After the turn of the century the hotel became a residence and the saloon found new life as the village general store. In 1989 after 18 months of restoration David and Marcia Braswell reopened the former hotel as a bed & breakfast. The inn consists of three buildings: the original inn, the summer kitchen and the 1859 rock house. There are a total of six guest rooms each with a private bath. ... more   less

“While they all have their merits, I personally would choose the Summer Kitchen. It is a small private room behind the main quarters.”

“The McReynolds Room has a small twin bed that is much like a day bed. Someone could easily sleep there and it makes a great additional place to sit. Convenient to sitting areas and ballroom, yet still quiet and private.”
