I looked over all of the pictures that people had taken and made my decision based on all of the positive reviews. I'm here to tell you that this place has to be seen and stayed in to fully appreciate everything there is to offer. I stayed in Albert's room and there is just so much to see. I was...

We stayed in two different rooms at Abe's. The first featured a most unique bathroom built into the hillside. The owners have an artist's studio featuring sculptures and pottery and many of these elements are incorporated into the rooms. The second room was more traditional but still very nicely decorated. The bed and breakfast is interesting and whimsical; for example,...

Yes, it is nice to share our gallery, which showcases my husband's pottery and work from other local artists, to our guests. Rudolph's Retreat and Albert's Glen are quite different in design but highlight my husband's artistic talents. I love rabbits and we have had five different ones for pets over the years. The hutch is left over from when...

We arrived Friday late afternoon and Sandy was so wonderful! She took us right to our room, gave us all the information she could provide us with for our stay,...

We have stayed many times in Oreo's room. Each and every time has been a fantastic experience. Beautiful newly remodeled room in this wonderful historic building and extremely clean. The handmade bed is a testament to Charles' craftsmanship seen throughout the property. Sandy and Charles are great hosts with wonderful food and conversation. Very enjoyable and within walking distance to...

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about our newly opened Oreo's Hide-A-Way. Charles enjoys creating unique and special suites combining art and history to share with our guests. He is now working on constructing another one-of-a-kind bed for a new suite which will be opening soon. We are so pleased you enjoyed the very roomy suite. Yes, many people leave their...

Pleased to hear you enjoyed the comforts of Rudolph's Retreat. This suite was named after the last brewmaster of this brewery, The City Brewery. The brewery lasted from 1850 - 1880 and the ice house, which is now Abe's Spring St. Guest House, was built in 1876. Galena has lots of interesting history. Breakfast is one of my favorite meals...

My fiance and i stayed here for a night while visiting Galena. Sandy was a great host! The room was spacious and clean and we were able to relax in the hot tub after our night out. So glad you had a great stay at Abe's Spring St. Guest House. Oreo's Hide-a-Way, our newest suite, is an artful blend of antique and modern giving the space a one-of-a-kind feel. The wooden bed, handmade by owner/artist Charles, is unique. The hard maple was from a fallen tree on our property and the walnut posts were given to us...

My husband and I had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay at this unique BNB! The spa and hot tub was so relaxing after a walk to downtown on a winter's night, and the breakfast was amazing each morning! The sense of privacy that the room and location brings was a great add on to our weekend too!
