We needed a place for a small conference with some 15 participants and tried out the Akerby Manor with conference and hotel facilities. We are very glad that we did that. The place is quiet and situated in an interesting part of Sweden. There are lots of old iron works, mines and industrial history. A lot more than you can...

We did not stay at this hotel, however, we did dine at the restaurant at this hotel. It is a very nice facility decorated for Christmas time. It had vaulted ceilings and nice views of the lake. This is a hidden gem for a wedding or family reunion. I enjoyed the deer steak with blueberry sauce (yummy sauce with ginger).

This is part a historic mansion combined with a former education center, now a conference hotel. Were there for a week-end package with dinner and a complimentary whisky tasting. Well prepared food, reasonable cost for wind for Sweden and friendly staff. Not so many rooms booked so mainly lade manager did most things. The location by a lake is the...

First of all, as of January of 2009, this is no longer a Best Western. We booked this hotel (herrgård, though, means mansion in Swedish) as a three-night-christmas package, and we were terribly disappointed. The mansion is beautifully located and the actual mansion is also pretty. However, it's almost as if the mansion buildings are a facade. Most of the...

“Not much for the work-out or gym addict. But very nice saunas - two of them, no unisex saunas - and the lake down the meadow. Nature with foot-paths are more inviting than a gym in the cellar. Personally, I didn't concentrate on physical aspects of the stay.”
