Newly refurbished room very nice, with a lovely view and handy for the spa. Excellent evening meal (ate too much!). Staff both in the restaurant and generally very helpful and friendly. We’ve stayed here a number of times for its handy location, appreciate the improvements and will certainly be back.
I booked this hotel after a quick Google search for somewhere half way for us to stop overnight on our journey to Dorset. We have a 20 month lively little boy. This hotel isn’t far from the motorway and really easy to find. On arrival, the travel cot was all set up as requested. Staff were very accommodating. The room is a little dated but for the price, I think it’s very reasonable! I’ve read some recent reviews but I sincerely think that you get what you pay for. The best selling point in our experience was the restaurant. Our evening meal was beautiful and also there was a children’s menu too. The high chair was strategically set up away from other tables when we arrived and the service was impeccable (allowing us to enjoy a stress free meal with a baby). Special shout out to Bernie who was fabulous with our baby and nothing was too much trouble. She is a credit to the restaurant and hotel. Breakfast was also delicious and all included in the price. We would highly recommend and definitely use again.…
An enjoyable stay. Massages for my husband & I were very good & professional. I found the pool area rather noisy (acoustics?) but was happy to lounge on a recliner outside as it was warm. Food was excellent & staff were very good. A useful location to visit Nature in Art at Twigworth, less than 2 miles away. Our room was comfortable & spacious.
Drove over 200 miles in atrocious weather conditions, arrived at 14.38 to be told to call back later as you can't check in until 15.00. Don't think this is a 4 star hotel, not good enough, I have had better service from a B& B. Would never recommend or go back. Unfortunately I have had to give a rating to write this review.
Gorgeous place, fab facilities, great treatments, delicious food and lovely staff, special mention to Courtney who was so lovely and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you very much from the Patels
We stayed here for a long weekend to attend an event in Gloucester. Lovely hotel with welcoming, helpful and very efficient receptionists. Enjoyed scrumptious dinners and breakfasts served by very lovely staff. We took advantage of spa use and a treatment. Again , very helpful and efficiently dealt with by all there. Overall experience of the venue was one of total relaxation, no drama, nothing was too much trouble and we will definitely opt for same venue at our next visit to Gloucester.
So I got there and had booked a bridal suite. On arrival I was told I couldn’t have the bridal suite (despite NOBODY contacting me to tell me this before arriving). I was obviously annoyed and had only booked that room because of the jacuzzi bath. They offered us another room and I said no I only booked for the bridal suite. They then suggested ‘the other bridal suite’ - wondered why I wasn’t offered this as a first resort when disappointing me about the initial bridal suite. I accepted it as I didn’t have another option. I was assured it was the same as the one I booked - it wasn’t. It didn’t have the jacuzzi bath, although it had a balcony instead - not what I booked or paid for but was nice. Receptionist and general manager are lovely Bad points: - bridal suite is not available even though you can book it. - house keeping are invasive and entered our room even though there was a do not disturb sign on the door. - room service was not 24/7 even though told sandwiches are 24/7 - apparently didn’t have any. - spa is really, really slippery. Nearly went flying which was not relaxing (albeit funny). - hotel had wasps in corridors and coming through lots of open windows ( natural occurrence and personal preference but again not very relaxing) - manager told us it was a bridal suite even though I said it states ‘spa deluxe’ on the website. He said it’s a bridal suite. Odd but okay. - shower was temperamental and the toilet blocked. - there was barely any milk for teas (you can ask for more though I believe) - wasn’t contacted at all or made aware of changes to the room even though I stated it was my partners birthday etc. Good points: - general manager was lovely and calm, very kind and she was chatty and friendly. - receptionist was absolutely lush. She was really kind and empathetic and did her best to sort the situation alongside the general manager. - room was pretty and spacious (although not what we booked and was a deluxe spa suite, not bridal room) - location is really pretty and fairly secluded and private. - spa is pleasant and reception were lovely. Good variety of Elemis. - Elemis products in the room were lovely. - late checkout was available - was given £30 for the hassle caused (not great but they did try..) - complimentary drink after the room mix up (again not great but it is what it is) - parking was convenient - room was modern and had large sliding door and balcony. - pricing isn’t too steep I think if you don’t mind disorganisation (rooms not being available and not being contacted) or house keeping randomly entering your room whilst you’re getting out the shower, then it would be a lovely little stay in a nice location. Thank you to the lovely receptionist and general manager, I know you guys did your best and you were kind to us the entire time.…
Great hotel lovely location staff very friendly and attentive, Room OK bit dated needs an upgrade chipped furniture and in need of a paint overlooked the big flat roof which was not pleasant full of Air con units and tubes a bit of greenery might have helped . Bar service was good although watch the price list I ordered 2 glasses of house wine which on list £7.30 but charged £8.00 Queried it to be told its what's on the till the list was there for the whole 3 days and I mentioned it twice . Restaurant excellent food great and service amazing. Spa excellent although there was no availability for massages the whole 3 days we were there so could only use the pool .
Second time I've stayed here as thought I should at least give it another chance! Shouldn't have! Staff to be fair were good, however. Checked in and asked if the pool was still open? Of which I was told it would cost me another £25 to use the pool! £25 for a swim (No thank you) I then went for Dinner in the restaurant, of which was average. I then asked for the bill and was told there was a service charge, whether I wanted to pay it or not! Will NOT be staying here again! I would have given a tip but to be told I have no option means NO staying here again!
We stayed just one night in this place. Staff was very friendly and the food in the restaurant was great. The room was really outdated with an awful carpet and furniture from the 70th. We didn’t try the spa. Overall I would say a 3 star hotel but definitely not a 4.
