The reviews about this place are right! I can't believe how little I payed to stay in this lovely vaulted room in the beautiful Byzantine hill village of Avgonomia. The setting couldn't be better. A few minutes drive to the abandoned village of Anavantos in one direction, a few more to the World Heritage Site of Nea Moni in another,...

We spent two weeks in one of the most beautiful places on Chios island. The village of Avgonima offers a soothing, calming and beautiful setting for your holidays. Lovely and quiet beaches with crystal clear waters and the deserted castle-town of Anavatos are only a short drive away and you can do day trips to the north or south parts...

There aren't enough words to describe how happy we were in Avgonyma, at Spitakia. The rooms were in the main square, above a little tavern, in an enchanting stone house "old style", just out of a Greek tale. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and furnished with taste, in Greek style. We had excellent wifi. Avgonyma is beautiful and silent, we...

Because we have recovered so great during our last year visit we decided to come this September again. And we found everything unchanged and fantastic. George’s hospitality and assistance, the breakfast made of regional products, the nice taverns around, the great landscape. This time with WLAN in all the rooms ! I am sure this will not be the last...

This is an exceptional bed and breakfast in Avgonima. Mr. George is a wonderful host who has a deep love for the history of this special place. He is a walking encyclopedia. Everything is perfect down to the smallest detail, to the freshly made lemonade and freshly squeezed orange juice.

Spitakia is truly a wonderful place to stay. The 11th century stone cottages and the overall village is an experience in itself. The cottages are vey comfortable and well-appointed. Yet, I find it amazing to live in a space where people lived for almost 1000 years. Mr. George is a great host who is very hospitable and always available. Also,...

Avgonyma is a great place for people looking for recreation far away from hectic cities and boring all-inclusive hotels. For 2 weeks we enjoyed the caring hospitality of always good-humored director George Missetzis and his daughter Theresa. George is a real nature lover and provided us with all the information we required to visit the highlights of the island. During...

You know that rare gem you come across in your travels that stands out above other experiences? Well for us, the journey to Avgonyma is one of those and what made it all the more special was the hospitality extended to us by Spitakia proprietor, George, and his daughter, Teresa. The village was a great retreat, very peaceful and the...

We stayed for several days in this peaceful village. George the owner was fantastic and is very knowledgable about wildlife and fauna, we did a walk with him from the village down through the woods to the coast which was great. The room (a studio apartment) was modern and clean and had a roof terrace with a fantastic view over...
