I stayed here about 5 months ago, so things might be better. This is another tweener for me. I would like to 3.5 it but I can't. The lobby is well situated and has a decent restaurant. The room is pretty good and clean. I did not like the fitness center very much and the type of treadmills they have...

The current renovation is a bit of a bummer, but we were forewarned. The hotel is centrally located, clean, well-organized, and room service is very quick to turn around in room dining. Most important, the individual service provided by Alex at in room dining, has been close to that of a 5-star hotel. She really knows how to make a...

So far we have stayed here twice but we plan returning here over and over. We love the location, it is so central. Walking distance to great restaurants, bars and shopping and the theatre district. The hotel itself is wonderful. The lobby decor is elegant with an amazing lobby bar with a great tapas menu. The indoor pool and fitness...

Hotel is under construction now (April 1 finish) and my anticipated experience was that it would be trying. I was very wrong. Staff and service was excellent and very helpful. Stayed in a remodeled room which was extremely nice. Best experience was that we were there for a "tasting" for my daughter's August wedding and I was more than pleased....

We recently this past weekend stayed there to take my son to see the 2 cellos play at the Chicago theater. The staff was great and moved us to a room with two queen beds when they realized our room only had a king. After only being in the room for 10 minutes they came up to see if there...

Spent two nights here in February 2015 while attending the Chicago Auto Show. Location is good, and I had a great room with a river view. It was extremely cold (and w indy, of course) while I was there, so I spent more time in my room than I normally would. I also ate multiple times at Bar Novo. Renovations...

I picked this hotal because it was convenient to a couple of offices I had to visit. When we checked in the was a long walk to the elevator to the second floor where the check-in was temporarily set up. Well marked. Room was spacious, clean and had a great view of the area. I was on the 8th floor...

My husband booked us at the Renaissance on Wacker for the weekend. We stay at Marriotts all the time, so I didn't bother to look the hotel up. The day before we checked in my husband forwarded an email to me from the Renn. It spoke of checking in on the 2nd floor bc of renovations in the lobby. I...

We are delighted you were able to experience one of our renovated rooms and enjoyed our creative “hiding” of the renovation! We have worked hard to craft an intriguing entrance during our transformation and we appreciate the kind comments. We look forward to welcoming you back to experience our completed renovations in April! Thank you and live well.

I just returned from a horrible stay at this Renaissance. When I checked in, the clerk said I was given "a really nice room overlooking State Street." But she neglected to tell me that I also would have really awful exposure to the nearby El, which rumbled constantly. The heat didn't work properly, and the shower didn't drain. As noted...

The Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel is the perfect hostelry for business, tourist, and family travelers. The staff treats each guest like a member of the family and the location at State Street and Wacker Driver is ideal since there is easy access to the Magnificent Mile, the Theatre and Financial Districts, and a host of Museums and Universities.
